At least, nine people, including three children, were safely rescued after rainwater entered a house in Gulraiz Phase-I, Rawalpindi, Rescue 1122 said on Wednesday.

According to Rescue 1122, six adults and three children had become trapped inside the house near Abbasia Chowk following heavy rainfall.

ederal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Tuesday said the firing at a security official on Rawalpindi’s Mall Road had exposed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) violent politics, stressing that there was no justification for the incident.

The government on Tuesday revised petroleum product prices, reducing the price of petrol by Rs1.70 per litre while increasing the price of high-speed diesel by Rs1.39 per litre.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the new prices will take effect from August 12, 2026.

The price of Motor Spirit (petrol) has been reduced from Rs327.62 to Rs325.92 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased from Rs380.86 to Rs382.25 per litre.

The revised prices were notified under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism following a revision by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA)
