Mehmal Sarfraz is a prominent Pakistani journalist and political analyst based in Lahore. Hate against women drivers is larger than a stereotype, it’s discrimination.

In 2021, the WHO reported 28,000 traffic-related deaths in Pakistan, with drivers overwhelmingly being men. Yet women are still targeted with degrading claims meant to push them out of public spaces.

Stop normalising gender based hate speech.
