How to choose a product with good profit potential?

When looking to choose wholesale products to sell on Amazon is to choose a product with good profit potential. If you may find a high-demand and low-competition product, but if the product is not profitable, your efforts will amount to a waste. Profitability analysis and cost estimates are essential parts of determining whether or not wholesale products would be profitable. Other tips to follow include:

Choose a pricing strategy that ensures profitability and still works for your product category. Remember, wholesale price competition is intense on Amazon, so don’t get trapped in a race to the bottom.
Look for products that are small and lightweight. Smaller and lightweight products take less space to store and are cheaper to ship products. This will increase your profit margin and also save you a lot of costs on overhead. You can look through the FBA fee schedule to get a good sense of the costs associated with various dimensions.
Understand all the costs associated with selling on Amazon. The truth is that selling on Amazon goes beyond a simple retail price tag. There are tons of costs to consider; if you don’t account for them early on, the costs will quickly stack up. While doing your profitability analysis, factor in fulfillment and shipping costs, Amazon fees, inventory management, as well as other relevant taxes.
When you are in the search stage, you can use Amazon’s FBA Revenue Calculator to view potential net profits. All you need to do is to search for products or ASIN and this tool will help you calculate the net profits and margins of fulfillment with FBA.

The bottom line? Once you have a list of the wholesale products you intend to sell on Amazon, ensure you estimate all the costs involved to determine your profit potential before making a final decision.

Fun Prime Day 2022 Fact: Roughly 58% of orders were placed for items under $20, Numerator data showed, based on a survey of Prime Day purchases from 21,306 households.

Takeaway? Start flipping that under $20 product inventory in this economic climate as quickly as possible.

Soaring inflation didn't appear to deter consumers from the event, in which home goods, consumer electronics and Amazon-branded devices were top sellers.

The nature of Amazon’s ranking algorithm is to display the products most likely to convert to a sale

First and foremost, Amazon looks at keyword relevancy to match a customer’s search with relevant products

For products to appear in the right search results, you want to maximize the number of relevant keywords but with so many high search volume, and low competition keywords, it is difficult to integrate them all within a product description page (PDP) without keyword stuffing

The backend keyword feature provides sellers an alternative to index for valuable keywords that could not be targeted on the PDP and while not visible to the buyer, they still have a significant impact on improving visibility and driving conversions

Using a data-driven approach, discovery and optimization of converting backend keywords can be in conjunction with PPC optimization techniques

Profitable, high click-through rate, customer search terms, extracted from search term reports, can be used for the discovery of new and the optimization of existing keywords in both PDPs and backend keywords

Monitor keyword performance by checking it is being indexed => Paste the ASIN + keyword in the customer search term box, if the keyword is indexed for the corresponding ASIN, the product will be displayed in the search results

Discovering profitable keywords is an iterative process. Optimization by replacing non-performing with performing keywords will help drive consistent conversions and improve your organic rank

How to Dominate Keywords on Amazon!

In the video I posted a few days ago, I went over how one term affects the others.

And we went over how it is not necessary to target the highest searched term, and instead we should be going after long-tail terms which will bring up the main one more into reach until you are ready to own that term

Now something interesting to point out:

We were sponsoring the 1st and 2nd positions in ads on 2 terms, as well as sending some external traffic.

These are smaller SV terms so the CPC was low and was easy for us to Convert on; this gave us the organic position improvements on many keywords as shown in the last video,

Now in this video, we see are seeing a continuation of this :

The position went to the 6th spot, from the 89th spot, in only 2 weeks.

We now shut off the PPC for this term as we don't need it, and the position is holding its spot.

We still have a low-budget PPC targeting the other term, which is holding up and continuously improving that term as well as similar terms.

So we ranked for a keyword with 6,000 SV and also one with 5,000 SV, which is going to create a domino effect with the ranking of many terms including the higher search volume terms.

You don't have to advertise on every single term you want to rank organically on, as the amazon algorithm does a good job for us seeing related relevant terms to our item based on previous sales.

And we also don't need and shouldn't focus on the biggest terms that we do not belong at yet, as we won't convert well, which will send negative signals to Amazon and cause our listing harm.

Example Scenario: the main term has 300k Searches per month, and everyone on that term's first page has 1,000+ reviews minimum, our product is currently on the 10th page for that term, so we don't belong there right now, and us putting our focus on converting for smaller long-tail terms that contain the same main term will do 2 things:

1. It improves our organic spot on the smaller terms and brings them all the way to page 1 since they are small and easy to capture relevant terms, and

2. Now that Amazon sees we converted well on those so they will also improve us on that 300K SV term, and they will move us up to a closer page than we were on before, and now that we are on a closer page It is much better for us in Amazon's eyes to rank even better for it, and also it's now a low hanging fruit and will be easier for us to capture once we have more reviews built up.

We need to be realistic about where we belong with our listing's current situation and set very high goals, but at the appropriate time. It all must be mapped out.

That's it for today.

Amazon Pay-per-Click (PPC) advertising is part of Amazon’s internal advertising system. Brands, agencies, and third-party sellers can create ads using Amazon PPC to advertise their products in Amazon search results and competitor product listings. Sellers can then present customers who are ready to make a purchase with relevant products at the point of sale - and measure the success of their ads to identify which specific ads drive conversions. The technique is highly effective for Amazon sellers of all types and sizes. Three out of four of them use it.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐏𝐂 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲:

Here are the basic aspects of building a solid Amazon PPC management strategy:

1-Test each type of PPC ad campaign, and play around with automatic and manual keyword targeting to see what’s best for your brand.

2-Perform detailed keyword research, focusing both on related keywords and competitor products.

3-When starting out, set daily budgets and default bids 50-100% higher than what Amazon recommends.

4-Let ad campaigns run for at least two weeks before running reports and making adjustments.

5-Use ad reports from your automatic campaigns to find keywords for your manual campaigns.

6-Before adjusting or removing a keyword from a manual campaign, make sure the keyword gets at least 10 clicks.

7-Continue reviewing your ad reports once a week, subtracting, adding, and adjusting keywords as needed.

How to Rank Your Listing Without Doing Ads.

A new client had a listing that was missing a few valuable keywords, I added them into the Bullets, Description, and Search Terms…I could not add them to the title, because the title length was maxed out and I did not want to remove any of the other valuable terms from the title to fit this in.

So I added it to the bullets, Description, and Search terms, and without even directly targeting it via PPC, we had a direct improvement in organic keywords position ranking.

Now my title of this video is misleading because PPC can definitely help this term, but I wanted to point out that even without the PPC, It made a positive impact.

The PPC and Deals we will now start running will drive traffic and conversions which will help the terms even more, and it becomes a snowball effect, the more conversions amazon sees, the more they will push it for other related terms.

Tips:

1. Keyword Stuff all your Good Keywords, But it still must be easy to read for the buyers.

2. Strategically maneuver long-tail keywords so you can fit them in without having to remove any good terms. A long-tail keyword that contains the main keyword is a great move to add anywhere in the listing.

3. If you don't see an immediate change in rank for that term, within 3 days, hit it with some PPC, PPC placement does not need to be Top of the page, It just needs to get some traffic to index, and then the Sales will bump it up to the top, But its proven that traffic alone will jump-start it and get it showing on the pages, but keep in mind if you don't get sales after a while it will hurt the listing, on that one term, and possibly on other related terms.

4. Always max out the description, even though you are still using EBC and the Description may be hidden, The Amazon Algorithm still will pick this up, So maximize the description back end, which is 2,000 characters.

5. Don't add irrelevant terms to your backend or it will mess up your PPC and organic rankings.

6. Fill in all the optional fields so you appear in the filters when the buyer is searching.

7. Always Do keyword research on both your competitor's listings, and of course on your own listing, and when you pull the keywords make sure you always run a fresh pull on your listing, as the amount of keywords and the placements should improve(if you're doing it right)

That's it for today.
