World Bank data from 2017 and 2018 shows which countries invest heaviest in R&D.
Some smaller countries are out-spending much larger economies in this area.
R&D can help usher in a new, post-pandemic era of sustainable economic growth.
The World Bank analyzed the most recent available data on which countries spend the largest proportion of GDP on R&D activities. While the data predates the pandemic, it helps shine a light on how funding research can bolster economic competitiveness. The top five are: Israel, South Korea, Switzerland, Sweden and Japan.

There is massive income inequality in the in the U.S. and in the world, and everyone from political candidates to billionaires is talking about it.
A recent global wealth ranking by Bloomberg Businessweek put a fine point on it. The ranking gives everyone in the world a “wealth number,” from -2 (the world’s poorest) to 11 (the world’s wealthiest).
Only two people get an 11: Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates. Scoring 11 on the Businessweek ranking means you have $100 billion or more.
There are just 150 people who have a wealth number of 10, a bracket that’s entry level net worth is $10 billion (up to just under $100 billion).

Facebook's cryptocurrency Libra could launch as soon as January in an even further slimmed-down version, the Financial Times reported.

According to Financial Times, The exact timing of Libra's launch depends on when it receives regulatory approval.Libra would operate as a digital currency, providing an alternative to the US dollar and other currencies managed by foreign governments. The Libra Association, an independent group organized by Facebook, would oversee the Libra token, which is starkly different from popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin.

Irsih Government has paid almost 4 Billion euros for income support program related to pandemic. According to RTE, 342,505 people will receive Pandemic Unemployment payments this week, up 12,500 since last week.

The Advisor was informed that as per the provisional trade data for the month of October 2020, the exports have shown an increase of 2.1 percent and they stood at $2.066 billion as compared to $2.024 billion in October 2019.
He was also informed that on the import side, during the same period, there has been a decline of 10.3 percent and imports have decreased from $4,074 million to $3,653 million. The trade deficit shrunk 22.6 percent in October 2020, and came down to $1,587 million, showing an improvement of $463 million over October 2019.
