To determine the shipment's weight, ascertain the individual actual weight of each box and subsequently calculate the cumulative gross weight of all the boxes or palletized cargo.
𝙑𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙢𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣:
To determine the shipment's volume, measure the length, width, and height of each box in your shipment. Multiply these dimensions (length x width x height) to obtain the volume of each individual item. For air freight, sea freight, or less than container load (LCL) shipments, divide the resulting volume by 6,000, which will yield the volume weight in kilograms:
Example: Length: 125cm Width: 135cm Height: 165cm
Volume Calculation: 125cm x 135cm x 165cm = 2,784,375
2,784,375 / 6,000 = 464.06kg.
This formula is applicable for Air Freight, Sea Freight, or LCL Shipments.
Whereas, for courier shipments, divide the total volume by 5,000 to determine the chargeable weight in kilograms.
Example: Volume Calculation: 125cm x 135cm x 165cm = 2,784,375 / 5,000 = 557kg.
This approach will help you accurately determine the weight and volume of your shipment based on the specific shipping method, ensuring the correct charges and handling procedures.
