I am pleased to be conducting a session under the KTBA Basic Professional Development Program 2026 on “Withholding Sales Tax under Federal and Provincial Laws.”

With taxation becoming increasingly interconnected across federal and provincial jurisdictions, understanding withholding obligations has become essential not only for practitioners but also for businesses seeking to remain compliant while avoiding unnecessary disputes.

The session will focus on the practical application of withholding provisions, common mistakes encountered in the field, and the challenges professionals face when navigating multiple tax regimes.

I have always believed that the strongest profession is one where experienced practitioners continue to invest in the next generation. Looking forward to an engaging discussion with fellow tax professionals, young practitioners, and students.
