Vibrating Energy The real question is "How does energy effect us?" Let's take a side trip for a moment into the field of physics to help find some answers. Scientists tell us that they have proven that everything and I mean every thing, is moving, vibrating energy. In the same way that some combinations of musical notes and rhythms appeal to some and not to others, so too the vibrations of a space and the energy of the objects in that space can appeal to your personal energy fields or they can produce a negative or unpleasant experience.
Musical notes can be resonant or dissonant depending on the person experiencing the music. My mother never liked my music and I thought hers was old and fussy. Now, I'm pained when forced to listen to the music my children love.
Think about how the combination's of colors – which really amount to light vibrating at different frequencies – can change your mood immediately . Some people even get Seasonal Affective Disorder when they don't get enough natural light, that is, light of a particular spectrum, frequency and duration. There is a booming business in lamps that provide this needed frequency. Some energy vibrations are beneficial and some are harmful in excess, such as in x-rays and ultraviolet light. (Some movies fall into this category for me too.)
Mysticism or Science when you understand what energy is, you begin to understand your surroundings in a new way. If you think of your environment as energy fields that you spend time in and move through, you can see that your own personal energy field is either enhanced and supported or disturbed by that environmental energy.
When a Feng Shui consultant tells you that you need to change the orientation of your bed or desk or move your office to a different room, this is the science behind the change. If you understand a subject deeply and apply the principles of that subject to change your life, it can seem like superstition or mysticism to someone who is unfamiliar with the subject.
Where the Math Comes In To apply precise mathematics to the subject of Space Feng Shui, you will need to take proper measurements of the space in question, find the orientations of the objects in that space and know the four directions that are favorable or unfavorable for you and perhaps each of your family members or colleagues. To do this you need a suitable compass.
If you are unskilled with the use of a compass or your compass is inadequate, your readings can be off by several degrees, giving you not only useless information but perhaps leading you to erroneous conclusions. Actions taken on false calculations can give undesirable results.
Once you know the precise compass orientation of your space, you can then work with the more advanced application of the Feng Shui map known in Chinese as the Ba Gua or Pa Kua. The Ba Gua divides an area into nine sectors, each one having a different focus and realm of influence, such as career, relationship, health, etc.
Cures and Activations Depending upon the area you are addressing and what you want to activate or cure, you will use the five different elements – water, wood, fire, earth and metal – to balance the energy and create the most positive flow for you and your family or business.
The field of Feng Shui is vast and intricate. Feng Shui Masters and consultants may recommend many different changes in your space to activate and enhance the positive energy. They may also suggest "cures" to mitigate aspects that could be harmful, obstructive or draining.
Using your own intellect and intuition, you will find the approach to Space Feng Shui that works best for you. Once you apply proven Feng Shui principles to your home and office, you are poised for a wonderful experience every time you enter your door and you will begin to see positive results in your success, prosperity, relationships, health and happiness.
When you arrange your home or office to harmonize the natural flow of life-affirming energy, you actively support a productive and fulfilling life for yourself and all who live or work with you!
