1.Determine the number of cows you want to start your dairy business with

5.Do a partial budget analysis to make sound financial decisions.This helps determine profitability within the set dairy standards.
6.Draw up a plan and set your goals and benchmarks.
7.Put all the needed resources together and get started.
NOTE:Practice the right management practices on the farm.
(a.)At any one time,ensure three quarters of your cows are in milk and a quater is dry.
(b.)Grow and conserve quality fodder,including legumes on your farm.
(c.)Utilize manure from your farm to produce fodder or make money by selling it.
(d.)Maintain a healthy dairy herd through proper housing,hygiene,vaccinations and timely treatment.
(e.)Set your financial goals,quality standards and manage your farm well to achieve the set goals.
(f.)Keep records to gauge the performance of the enterprise.
(g.)Rare your calves well to have your own replacement stock
