Every founder I work with across four continents is dealing with the exact same problem.

It's not funding. It's not strategy. It's time.

An entrepreneur in Fiji and a CEO in Toronto have almost nothing in common different industries, different markets, different clients. But both of them are drowning in the same 40 hours of admin, content, and operations work every single week.

The businesses pulling ahead right now aren't the ones working more hours. They're the ones who figured out what to hand off, and to whom.

Delegation isn't a luxury reserved for big companies anymore. It's become the actual difference between founders who scale and founders who burn out.

What's the one task you know you should hand off but haven't yet?

"So you basically just answer emails all day?"

I've heard some version of this more times than I can count. Here's what an actual week looks like on my end:

πŸ‘‰ Building a full forms and strategies roadmaps for social media clients.

πŸ‘‰ Designing branded LinkedIn carousels from a single voice note.

πŸ‘‰ Video editing tasks and thumbnail creations, Youtube management.

πŸ‘‰ Rebuilding a resume from a decade-old draft into something that actually gets interviews.

"Virtual assistant" is one of those job titles that undersells itself. The real job is closer to: operations, strategy, content, and ex*****on for busy people who don't have time to do it themselves.

The email inbox is maybe 10% of it.

What's a misconception about your job you're tired of correcting?

Tell me in the comments section.

The best compliment a client ever gave me wasn't about my work. It was about my silence.

"I forget you're even reading my inbox," she told me. "You just handle it."

That's the part of this job nobody puts on a highlight reel discretion.

Pro Executive assistants and VAs see everything. Financial stress, team conflicts, half-finished decisions, private conversations. None of it is ours to talk about.

Trust is the actual product. The trackers, the content, the calendars, the deadlines; those are just what trust looks like once it's been built.

I'd rather be known as reliable and quiet than impressive and loose-lipped, every single time.

What's a quality you think gets undervalued in this line of work?

Do glide in comments section for your stance on it.

A cleaning company owner told me he'd never once thought about his LinkedIn profile.

"My team clean offices. Why would I need LinkedIn?" he asked me, half-joking.

Six weeks later, that same profile had a rebuilt headline, a real 'About Section,' and a content plan bringing in actual conversations with potential commercial clients including UK based Airbnb property owners residing outside the Oceania.

The business didn't change. The visibility did.

So many service-based business owners, cleaners, contractors, local operators assume platforms like LinkedIn aren't "for them." But the businesses actively booking corporate and commercial contracts right now are almost always the ones showing up online consistently.

You don't need to become an influencer. You just need to stop being invisible to the people already looking for what you do.

If you own a service-based business, is your LinkedIn currently working for you or just sitting there?

I use AI for almost everything in my work now. Drafting content, building trackers, researching prospects, YouTube videos & thumbnails creation; even writing first drafts of client deliverables.

But here's what I've learned working with it every single day: it doesn't run itself.

It can write me two weeks of content in minutes. It can't decide on its own that today's the day to post it. It can't wake up tomorrow and hit send without me sitting down and telling it to.

Every automation still needs a human to point it in the right direction and press go.

I think that's actually the whole story of AI-powered work right now. It's not about removing the person, it's about removing the busywork so the person can focus on judgment, timing, and decisions only they can make.

My job didn't get smaller because of AI. It got sharper.

Are you using AI tools in your business yet? What's it changed for you?

Early on, I said yes to a client I should have said no to.

Wrong fit, wrong expectations, wrong scope; and I knew it in the first call. I said yes anyway, because I needed the income and I was scared to turn work away.

Six weeks in, we both knew it wasn't working. It ended awkwardly, and it cost me more time and energy than the income was ever worth.

That one experience changed how I take on clients permanently. Now the first call isn't about convincing someone to work with me; it's about both of us figuring out honestly if this is the right fit.

Turning away the wrong client is what makes room for the right ones.

Has a bad-fit client (or job, or project) ever taught you something a good one never could?

A client came to me with a resume that hadn't been touched in six years.

He was an HR & Talent Acquisition professional, good at his job, completely stuck on paper.

His LinkedIn didn't reflect what he actually did. His resume read like a job description, not an achievement list.

I rebuilt it from the ground up: ATS-optimized resume, full LinkedIn audit, a structured intake process for his own client work, and a hiring strategy roadmap he could actually use.

The work wasn't glamorous. It was headline rewrites, bullet point by bullet point, one honest conversation at a time about what he'd actually accomplished.

That's most of what this work looks like, honestly. Not big reveals just careful, unglamorous rebuilding until the picture finally matches the person.

Have you ever looked at your own resume or LinkedIn and realized it just doesn't say who you are anymore?

Let me know in the comments section or DM your resume, I will inform you about three shortcomings on it.

In 2016, I didn't have digital agency. I had a laptop, one client from Philadelphia, and zero idea what I was doing.

πŸ’¬ No fancy process.

πŸ’¬ No team.

Just me, figuring out how to manage someone else's inbox, calendar, and to-do list, customer support over the call from a different country and a different time zone.

πŸ’₯ I made mistakes.

πŸ’₯ I missed things.

πŸ’₯ I learned fast because I had to.

Nine years later, I have set up my TSDS Agency and myself as an individual as well supporting CEOs, coaches, and founders across the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand with executive support, social media, video editing and AI-powered workflows built into everything we do.

But it still started with one client and a laptop.

If you're building something from scratch right now with more uncertainty than resources that's normal. That's how most of us started.

What's the one client or project that changed everything for you? Tell me in the comments section.
