One session from the SHAOOR Fellowship that I keep coming back to the one with Mr. Khan.
With 25+ years of experience and having coached over 500,000 individuals globally, including CEOs and business leaders, he could have kept things purely professional. Instead, he made a room full of students feel like our dreams deserved just as much seriousness as any boardroom goal.
It was, without exaggeration, the one session no one wanted to end. Usually we're checking the time. That day, we just wanted him to keep talking.
His core assignment was simple but powerful: keep a "Dream Book." Write your biggest dream in it and your smallest one too. On the days motivation runs low, that book pulls you back to why you started.
One line from him stayed with me: "You sleep to dream. But you wake up to make them real."
He also spoke about something we don't talk about enough that beyond technical and marketing skills, emotional intelligence is what actually sustains long-term growth. And that the people we choose to keep close will either build our future or quietly chip away at it.
The moment that meant the most to me, though, was when I asked him a question that's been sitting with me for a while: what do we do when our dreams don't align with what our parents want for us? Because we know they're not against us they have dreams for us too, shaped by their own love.
His answer was simple: don't respond with anger or conflict. Sit with them. Explain with patience and love. Give them more love than usual, not less. That's what actually changes minds not arguments.

I've sat through a lot of sessions. Motivational speakers, industry leaders, coaches.

But Dr. Lone's session at SHAOOR Fellowship felt different.
It didn't feel like a lecture. It felt like sitting across from someone's mother someone who had lived it, struggled through it, and was now telling you the truth without sugarcoating a single word.

She's the founder of LOSHA a lingerie brand built not for fashion, but for function. She saw that women undergoing breast cancer treatment had no comfortable, well-fitting options in the market. So she didn't just feel bad about it. She built a solution.

And launching a lingerie brand in Pakistan? That's not a small thing.
Her own parents weren't comfortable with it. Society had opinions. People talked.
But one thing kept her grounded through all of it her husband's (Shahid Lone) unwavering support. She talked about him with so much warmth. And it showed that behind every woman building something brave, there's often someone quietly believing in her.

Then she said something I wasn't expecting.
"For a woman, home will always be the priority and that's not a limitation. That's a choice."

In a world that keeps telling women to hustle harder, lean in more, do more she said something completely different. And somehow, it hit harder than any productivity framework ever could.

This session wasn't just for women. It was for anyone trying to figure out how to build something real without losing what matters most.

And I think every young person needs to hear it at least once.

Some conversations stay with you long after the room empties.

This was one of them.

As part of SHAOOR Fellowship 2026, we had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Iqrar Ahmed Chairperson of the Punjab Higher Education Commission-PHEC . A man who built everything from nothing.

He didn't just share advice. He shared his life.

From humble beginnings to earning every scholarship he ever received to pursuing his PhD in the USA on government funding his journey wasn't handed to him. It was fought for. At every single step.

And his competitors tried to pull him down. More than once.

He faced challenges as Vice Chancellor of University of Agriculture Faisalabad three times over. And when he went for the PHEC Chairperson interview conducted by none other than Ali Cheema Sahab, who today serves as VC of Lahore University of Management Sciences the quality he kept coming back to was one:

Persistence.

Along with honesty. Hardwork. And the willingness to sacrifice.

But what stayed with me most?

He said "Grabbing opportunities is a fight."

Not a suggestion. A fight.

Grade 11 and 12 are the most critical years of a student's life. But in government colleges the same teacher who stands in front of a classroom in the morning is found teaching at a private academy by evening. There's no accountability. No evaluation system. No one asking questions.

A student at KIPS gets one experience. A student in a government college gets a completely different reality.

I asked him why is there no proper teacher evaluation system in government institutions?

Asking that question in that room in front of someone with that level of influence that itself was a moment I won't forget.

I am so grateful to Allah Wale Foundation, Shahid Lone , and Khalid Butt for building a fellowship where students don't just listen they engage. They question. They are taken seriously.

This is the kind of platform that changes trajectories.

"Change Your Circle, Change Your Life"

When I first walked into this fellowship by Allah Wale Foundation , I was terrified.

I didn't know a single person. I kept thinking I'm alone here. What if no one gets me?

But 3 to 4 days in, something shifted.

Conversations started happening and not the kind I expected. We weren't talking about what to wear or what someone else was doing. We were talking about what we're learning. What we're building. What comes next.

That's when I met people like Arooma and Saba people who don't think like me. People who are, honestly, ahead of me in ways that push me to be better.

And I realized this is what happens when you change your surroundings.

Your goals change. Your direction changes. Your whole way of thinking shifts quietly, without you even noticing.

You don't have to force connections. Just show up in the right rooms, and the right people will find you.

So here's my advice from a sister who learned this the hard way:

Get out of your comfort zone. Meet new people. Especially the ones who aren't where you are the ones who are further ahead.

Network genuinely. The right connections don't just happen they grow when you're in the right environment.

Change your circle. Watch what happens to your life.

I grew up dreaming of becoming a CSS officer.

Yesterday, that dream walked me through the doors of Civil Services Academy, Lahore the place where Pakistan's finest civil servants are trained.

And I was there. At 20. As part of a fellowship.

We had the privilege of sitting with Farhan Aziz Khawaja Sahab and the way he spoke wasn't just informative. It was deeply human. He shared perspectives that genuinely help you navigate life the kind of wisdom that settles something inside you.

But one line hit differently.

"If you can't beat the system _ join it."

That one line changed something in me.

We often talk about changing the system from the outside. But yesterday reminded me real change happens when capable, principled people step inside it.

This visit wasn't just inspiring. It was a sign.

Because honestly? I joined SHAOOR Fellowship 2026*almost randomly. I thought I'm sitting at home anyway, let me just try. And it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life.

Sometimes Allah gives you signs disguised as small choices.

I want to sincerely thank Mr. Shahid Lone, Chairperson of Allah Wale Foundation, and Mr. Khalid Butt , Head of the Fellowship for creating opportunities like this for students. For letting us see the system with our own eyes, not just read about it in textbooks.

This is what real leadership looks like investing in the next generation before they even know their own potential.

Inshallah we will serve this country. With strong character. With clear vision. Not as products of the system but as people who chose it, understood it, and decided to make it better.

The dream is still alive. It just got a lot more real.

Some visits don't just inspire you they completely redefine your standards. ✨

Today, I had the privilege of visiting the head office of Allah Wale Foundation , and honestly? I walked out a different person.

Their Mega kitchen feeds 170,000 children every single day. Let that number sink in.

And the way they do it is what truly blew my mind:

🔧 100% Pakistani-made machinery zero imports, pure local innovation
🥦 Fully automated process from washing and cutting vegetables to making chapatis by machine
♨️ Zero gas cylinders inside steam is piped in from outside, powering everything efficiently and cleanly
👥 Minimal human labor, maximum output modern technology at its finest

But the machinery wasn't the most powerful thing I witnessed.

It was the culture set from the very top.

Chairperson Shahid Lone Sahab eats the same meal as the security guard. No separate menu, no separate table. Every team member sits together and shares the exact same food that goes to children in schools across the city. A dedicated nutrition department plans every meal because what these children eat is taken seriously at every level.

And when Shahid Lone spoke, one line stayed with me:

"Who says there's no career here?"

Looking around at the fully furnished offices, the media room, the podcast room, every world-class facility it was impossible to disagree.

This is what purposeful, professional, and people-first leadership looks like. Pakistan has institutions doing extraordinary work we just need to show up and see them.

Semester 1 me confused, overwhelmed, sitting in lectures wondering if I even belong here.

Semester 4 me still learning, still figuring things out, but this time I know exactly why I'm here.

Halfway through my BBIT (Marketing) at the Institute of Business and Information Technology, Punjab University and these 4 semesters have been anything but easy.

Late nights. Tough presentations. Moments where I doubted everything. But also growth I never expected.

I didn't just learn marketing. I learned how to show up, how to push through, and how to keep going even when it felt too hard.

4 semesters done. 4 more to go.

And honestly? The version of me walking into semester 5 is nothing like the girl who walked into semester 1. And that's the whole point. 🎓✨

Some people don't just build organizations. They build movements.

At SHAOOR Fellowship by Allah Wale Foundation , I sat in a session with Mr. Shahid Lone Chairman of Allah Wale Foundation Pakistan and left genuinely changed.

He shared his journey. From College University Lahore, connecting across different faiths and backgrounds, exploring theatre, to building a foundation that went from feeding 40 people to serving over 1.5 lakh individuals with zero discrimination.

Then I asked him something personal:

"What do you do when you're working with someone but they're not doing things right do you stay or leave?"

His answer:

"Stay in the grey. You can never be fully right. You have to learn to read the conditions."

That one line reframed something I'd been carrying for months.

Some sessions give you information. Some give you a shift in perspective.

This Tuesday, I had the privilege of attending a session by Salim Ghauri Founder & CEO of NETSOL Technologies Limited at Punjab University, in collaboration with Allah Wale Foundation.

And I left a different person.

He shared a story I will never forget.

He once left a 6,000-riyal job to 3,000 a decision that made no financial sense, but every instinctive one. He started building something on the side. When the company found out, he was given an ultimatum: the job or the business. Without a second thought, he chose the business.

A year later, he was sent back from Saudi Arabia no money, but an unshakeable vision and gut feeling that computers would change the world. At a time when computers were barely a concept, he came back to Pakistan and started from scratch.

Today, that gut feeling is NETSOL Technologies Limited a global tech company listed on Nasdaq.

He also spoke about AI and how it is not something to fear, but something to master within your own field. The message was clear: learn AI, or be left behind.

But what made this session truly different was how he carried it.

It was not a speech. It was a conversation.

He asked us questions. He listened to what we thought. He addressed us directly making every person in that room feel seen and heard. That kind of engagement from someone at his level is rare, and it made every word land so much deeper.

During the session, he asked the room who would make that bold decision, the 6,000 to 3,000 leap, without knowing what the future holds?

I was the first to raise my hand.

Salim Ghaurii pointed it out. And in that small moment, something clicked for me.

Boldness is not recklessness. It is trusting your vision before anyone else does.

Honestly? It is the best session I have ever attended.

Thank you, Salim Ghauri, for not just speaking at us but speaking with us. And thank you to my mentor Javed Akhtar through whom I first heard your name for always connecting me to people who expand how I think.

The best investment you can make right now? Learn your field deeply. Embrace AI. And never let comfort talk you out of your vision.
