کتنے بے بس ہوتے ہیں بیٹی کے والدین
بیٹی کے والدین کتنے مجبور ہوتے ہیں،
اس تصویر میں صاف دیکھا جا سکتا ہے،
یہ وہ بدبودار سماج ہے
جس میں بیٹی نہیں جہیز دیکھا جاتا ہے،
یہ جو اس گاڑی کے پیچھے دو زندگیاں تکلیف میں بیٹھی ہیں،
کیا قصور ہے ان کا؟
کیا کیا بیچ کر خرید لائے ہونگے؟
اپنے سال بھر کے دانے،
دوائیوں کے پیسے،
اپنے سکھ،
حتی کہ اپنی زندگی تک گروی رکھ دیتے ہیں،
ایسا کر لیں،
جہیز چھوڑ کر بیٹی لے لیں،
بنا معاوضے کے اسے عزت دے دیں
ایسا کریں کہ
جو بیٹی خالی ہاتھ آئے
اسے طعنے نا دیں
اپنے ہاتھ سے یہ سب خرید کر کہیں
جہیز کا حق والدین پر نہیں
شوہر پر ہوتا ہے،
کیونکہ سامان وہ استعمال کرتا ہے
دیکھو ۔۔۔
والدین بیچارے بے بس ہوتے ہیں،
سماج میں یہ بیٹی والے لوگ
کتنے بے بس ہوتے ہیں،
کتنے بے بس ہوتے ہیں

I am going to see my buri. She is in serious danger. I live with my elder son and my wife lives with my youngest daughter. Every week I visit my buri (wife). The last time I saw her was 5 days ago and I promised her I would return in the following week. Nobody wants me to go to see my wife because where my wife lives the water level has risen a lot. But my heart has been crying to see her badly. Fate did not allow us to stay together in our old age but God has given me enough strength to meet her.

Since last night I have been preparing myself to go to her. I left early this morning. But there are no vehicles because all the roads are now under flood water. So I am walking 15 long kilometers to see her. I am feeling very worried about my old sick wife. I am trying to walk fast but the day seems like a very long day!
