SINCERE, LOYAL & HONEST PEOPLE BURN LIKE CLAY LAMPS.
The Clay Lamp
A potter once shaped a small clay lamp and placed it in a dark corner of his home. Every night, the lamp burned faithfully, giving light to everyone who entered.
One evening, the lamp asked, "Why must I burn while others enjoy my light?"
The potter replied, "Because light can only be given by something willing to endure the flame."
The lamp continued to burn. Its oil diminished, its wick turned black, and its clay body grew hot. Yet it never stopped shining. It did not choose who deserved its light, nor did it pretend the darkness was not there.
One night, a fierce storm entered through an open window. The wind mocked the little lamp: "Your honesty makes you vulnerable. Your loyalty keeps you trapped. Your sincerity will consume you."
The lamp flickered, but answered, "Perhaps. But I would rather burn while giving true light than remain untouched and leave others in darkness."
By morning, the storm had passed. The lamp was cracked and almost empty, but its flame had guided the potter's family safely through the night.
The potter lifted it gently and said, "Sincere, loyal, and honest people are like clay lamps. They burn themselves to brighten the lives of others. Their scars are not signs of weakness, but proof that they remained true in the darkness."
Moral: A good heart should give light, but it must also protect its oil. Loyalty is noble, honesty is powerful, and sincerity is rare - but none of them requires you to destroy yourself for people who do not value your flame.
