THE JOURNEY DOESN'T END AT THE BORDER.

Returning home doesn't always mean returning to the life you left behind.

For return migrants, coming home can bring hope and new beginnings, but also uncertainty, social pressure, stigma and the challenge of rebuilding life. For vulnerable migrants, the journey may involve fear, separation, exploitation and emotional distress.

Behind every migration journey is a human being whose struggles may remain unseen and whose voice deserves to be heard.

This World Mental Health Day 2026, under the theme “Lived Experiences, Heard Real Voices, Real Change,” Youth Employability Network (YEN) highlights the importance of recognising the mental and emotional well-being of return and vulnerable migrants.

We believe that safe migration goes beyond reaching a destination safely. It also means respecting people's dignity, listening to their experiences, challenging stigma and ensuring their mental well-being is not overlooked.

Listen without judgment. Support without stigma. Make space for every voice.
Because returning home should never mean facing challenges alone.

Empowering Youth Through Digital Financial Literacy

Youth Employability Network (YEN), in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan Banking Services Corporation Multan, successfully facilitated an online session on Digital Financial Literacy – “DIGITAL UFAQ.”
The session provided young participants with valuable insights into digital financial services, responsible financial practices, online transactions, and the importance of making informed financial decisions in today’s digital world.
Through initiatives like DIGITAL UFAQ, we continue to equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the digital financial landscape confidently and responsibly.

Strengthening Referral Mechanisms. Protecting Vulnerable Migrants. Building Better Systems.

Mr. Shahzad Murtaza, Chief Executive Officer of Youth Employability Network (YEN), participated in the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) Review and Consolidation Workshop organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Nathia Gali.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders from Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development (MOPHRD), Ministry of Interior (MOI), Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment (BEOE), Ministry of Human Rights, ICMPD, and civil society organizations.
The workshop provided a valuable platform to review the draft National Referral Mechanism, assess existing referral pathways, identify critical gaps, and discuss practical ways to bridge them—ultimately strengthening coordination and protection mechanisms for vulnerable migrants and victims of trafficking.

Meaningful collaboration between government institutions, international organizations, and civil society is essential to turn policy frameworks into effective, coordinated, and people-centred action.
