In a world full of Aslam’s be like Faisal.
Resolved to shed those love handles, Aslam & Faisal started their weight loss journey on 1st January 2020. The start as always was full of zeal and fervor, hitting the gym 5/6 times a week, cycling on alternate weekends. As January finished and February dawned Aslam who had hoped to see drastic changes started to be overcome with despair.
Faisal not expecting any radical change for at least 5/6 months persevered. Aslam started to slip into misery and gloom. Work out days were cut to 2/3 from 5/6 times a week with weekends being spent on full vacation mode. By March Faisal had lost 4 pounds while Aslam had lost none.
Aslam being fully convinced of the murkiness coming his way gave up on this unattainable quest. Faisal on other hand meant business and was persistent throughout the year. Then came the moment of truth, on 30th December 2020 they came to compare results, Aslam having given up on this impossible ascent had gained (Don’t act astonished, what did you expect from the weekends spent like vacations) 9 pounds. Faisal meanwhile was successful in losing 17 pounds (You heard me right, the power of consistency).
2021 won’t be any different if we act like Aslam, not putting in the hours and wishing for miracles. No matter how insurmountable the Everest of your new year resolution is, if you work like Faisal you can achieve anything. Be like Faisal and make 2021 the year of change that you had been hoping for, but this time work for your hopes and don’t just dream. Otherwise for an Aslam, it is just a change of date.
