Islampur is bent on keeping its cottage hand loom industry up and running, producing high quality woolen shawls and warm embroidery clothes for the region. The village is located between the mountains of Marghazar itself a tourist spot, away about 15 kilometers from Mingora City. Tourists who ever planned a trip to swat must visit the village of embroidery popular for handmade woolen shawls and bl

ankets. The main source of income of the villagers is their handmade stuff. Both males and females have the skill of making variety of woolen embroidery shawls, blankets which are very popular all over the country and internationally especially in Europe people likes and wear it in good numbers. These shawls are made in the small industry functional at the local villager’s homes and farm houses, on locally embroidery machines named as (Kaddy). These woolen shawls were supplied to the every nook and corner of the world. There are 450 small woolen Shawls industries in islampur swat which they supply to the entire world.
