Day 3 was trying to show the possible effects of the transformation post-mining to areas based on experience of Bochum in Ruhr region. Zeche Zollverein, an UNESCO World Heritage site, is the former coal mine complex turned into cultural hub filled with museums and exhibitions.

Day 2 had put knowledge sharing in spotlight. We have participated many interesting lectures and poster session. During 2nd day consortium members learn about how Experts can contribute for sustainable and responsible mining and were presented different perspective on knowledge transfers in post-mining in non-EU member states. Poster session shed the light on topics such as Sustainability in healthcare, Emission management at municipal solid waste landfills or Circular economy for degraded city areas.

Last week HEI4S3-RM Consortium had pleasure to meet in Bochum, Germany.
3 day conference was full of interesting and insightful presentations.

Day 1 focused on summary of the project progress and news regarding EIT. as well as plans for future beyond HEI4S3-RM project. Participants also had opportunity to dive deep into Future perspectives of post-mining thanks to lecture by Julia Haske.
