1. Pierogi (dumplings) - a flour dish of Old Polish and Polish cuisine, salty or sweet filling wrapped in a piece of usually wheat pasta dough and cooked in water or, less often, baked or fried.
2. Gołąbki (stuffed cabbage rolls) - a semi-meat dish made of stuffing wrapped in rolls of white head cabbage leaves. Its basic ingredients are minced pork and rice or groats. Often served with tomato sauce.
3. Bigos (hunter's stew) - a dish of stewed cabbage and chopped meat, its basic ingredients are: finely shredded sauerkraut, fresh cabbage (sometimes only sauerkraut is used), various types of meat and cold cuts, dried mushrooms, dried plums (or smoked), onion and spices.
4. Zimne nóżki (meat jelly) - a cold snack, meat jelly made from pork or beef feet and vegetables, traditionally served with vinegar or lemon juice.
5. Żurek (sour rye soup) - a soup prepared on the basis of meat stock thickened with bread leaven, usually from rye flour, with a characteristic sour taste.
