“It was a day about what makes us stronger. About the people who support us and help us spread our wings.” 💙
That's how Mateusz, Kasia and Agata reflected on their experience after completing a Triathlon.

1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling, and 10 km of running.
Agata from Global Shared Services HR tackled the swim, Mateusz from Energy Systems took on the cycling leg, and Kasia from GSS Finance crossed the finish line with the final run. Together, they completed the course, but the story behind the medal is about much more than competition.

That is what being valued feels like.
At DNV, support comes in many forms: a colleague's encouragement or simply knowing someone is cheering you on. Whether we're working together in the office or taking on challenges outside of work, those connections help us succeed and achieve more than we could alone.

39 colleagues. 5 business areas. 1 padel court. 🎾

With support from DNV CONNECT (our global social networking space), colleagues joined a padel tournament designed to help everyone connect beyond their usual teams.

During the group stage, partners changed from match to match, and points were awarded based on individual performance, creating plenty of opportunities to meet and play alongside colleagues from different parts of DNV.

One of the tournament winners was Noemi, Junior HR Expert in Global Shared Services, who partnered with a colleague from another DNV business area to take the title.

"What I enjoyed most was getting the chance to connect with colleagues I wouldn't normally work with. It was a fun way to build new relationships while challenging ourselves on the court." 💙

What made the day special wasn't who won, but the connections made along the way. Because building connections starts with people - and you're at the heart of it. 🤝

Meet Mercedes, Head of Section – Advisory & Talent Acquisition, Global Shared Services HR, USA.
Ice skating has been a part of Mercedes’ life for as long as she can remember. She first stepped onto the ice as a child in Mexico City and continued skating through school and college before returning to formal training in Texas in 2022.

Today, she is part of a Theatre on Ice team – a unique discipline often described as "ballet on ice," where up to 24 skaters perform together, combining athletic skill with storytelling, artistry, and teamwork.

What excites Mercedes most is watching months of preparation come together into a single performance.
"It’s inspiring to see how every skater adds to the program, how each personality is reflected in the overall result, and how you need to be mindful of everyone else around you," she says.

Thirty years after first stepping onto the ice, Mercedes is still finding new challenges, new goals, and new reasons to love the sport. This is what keeps her engaged for so many years, the opportunities to learn and grow that come from doing something she cares about. ⛸️

From learning and sharing knowledge to laughter and some fun competition in the Hamburg countryside, our colleagues in Germany enjoyed a day full of team spirit. 💙

The Global Shared Services Summer Event was a chance to step away from daily tasks and connect in a different setting. One of the highlights was the team competitions, where colleagues cheered each other on and celebrated small wins together.

As Cornelia, Procurement Expert, reflected: "The energy throughout the day highlighted what makes GSS such a great place to work. It's the connections we create, the support we give each other, and the pride we share in our work that make GSS such a special place to be." ✨

For Thomas, it has been a willingness to stay open to new opportunities, even when they came with uncertainty.

He has seen the company evolve through mergers, organizational changes, and new ways of working. Along the way, he has taken on different roles, and built a global career that started in IT Support and led to his current position as Digital Workplace & Cloud Infrastructure Manager, Global Shared Services UK. 🚀

What started as a team outing has become a favorite tradition for the Global Shared Services HR North America team.

⚾For the fourth year in a row, colleagues came together at a Houston Astros baseball game, bringing together 20 team members from across our HR Global Shared Services streams. While cheering on the home team (and celebrating an Astros win 🎉) was certainly a highlight, the real win was the opportunity to connect in person.

“Stepping away from our daily agendas gave us time to enjoy plenty of laughs, and strengthen relationships,” comments Michael, Regional Manager, GSS HR North America.

Great collaboration starts with genuine connections, and the relationships built beyond our daily tasks often become the foundation for how we work together. It's those connections that are at the heart of it. 💙⚾🤝

Some hobbies come and go. Others stay with us for a lifetime.

For Edoardo, a Payroll Expert in Global Shared Services Italy, football has been part of his life since he was five years old. What started then became a passion that has stayed with him for more than two decades.

One of Edoardo's most memorable football experiences reinforced a lesson he carries into everyday life: don't give up when things get tough. After a challenging season, his team came back stronger and went on to win the championship the following year. 🏆

"An important reminder that persistence, and believing in yourself can take you further than you might expect."

Edoardo’s love of the game gives him a sense of freedom and helps him clear his mind. It's also something he shares with DNV colleagues, organizing games and taking part in DNV tournaments with teams from other countries.

Football is just one part of Edoardo’s story, but a great example of how personal passions can connect people and contribute to a workplace where everyone can be themselves.
