A full fuel tank will not help for long if the lubrication system is not doing its job.

The oil system is essential for reducing friction, controlling temperature and protecting the engine’s internal components. That is why every part of the system must remain in excellent technical condition.

✈️ PZL-3S — 600 HP OF POLISH AGRICULTURAL AVIATION HISTORY

Working every day with the Antonov An-2 and PZL M18 Dromader, it is impossible to limit ourselves to only two aircraft types.

Parts and assemblies for other Polish-built aircraft and machines originating from the former Eastern Bloc regularly find their way to MAPAC — and sometimes they bring a remarkable story with them.

Today, we present one of those exceptional finds:

PZL-3S AIRCRAFT ENGINE — AVAILABLE FROM MAPAC

The PZL-3S is a seven-cylinder, air-cooled radial engine rated at approximately 600 hp. Developed in Rzeszów from the Polish-built LiT-3/AI-26 lineage, it became one of the characteristic workhorses of agricultural aviation of its era.

The direct-drive PZL-3S powered the PZL-106A Kruk, while the geared PZL-3SR was used in the PZL-106AR and PZL-106BR.

The engine family also appeared in several other Polish and international agricultural aircraft and projects, including:

• Romanian IAR-827A
• PZL M-21 Dromader Mini
• Rockwell/Ayres Thrush S2R-R3S
• Polish MS-2 conversion
• Air Tractor AT-401A
• Selected Grumman G-164 Ag Cat conversions

From Europe and Africa to the Americas, the PZL-3S family earned its place in the international history of agricultural aviation.

The engine currently offered by MAPAC has an especially interesting and fully documented history.

According to its records, the engine logged fewer than 100 hours since new before being returned to PZL Rzeszów for a special factory repair. Following this work, it was assigned a nominal service life of 700 flight hours.

It has remained factory-preserved ever since.

A recent visual inspection revealed no signs of corrosion. The engine is available with all engine accessories and a complete documentation package.

This is more than an aircraft engine. It is a remarkably well-preserved piece of Polish aviation engineering, ready to become part of another serious restoration, operational or collector project.

✈️ PZL-3S — 600 CV DE HISTORIA POLACA DE LA AVIACIÓN AGRÍCOLA

Trabajando cada día con el Antonov An-2 y el PZL M18 Dromader, es imposible limitarse únicamente a estos dos modelos.

A MAPAC llegan con frecuencia piezas y conjuntos para otras aeronaves fabricadas en Polonia y en los países del antiguo bloque oriental. Algunas de ellas traen consigo una historia realmente excepcional.

Hoy presentamos uno de estos hallazgos especiales:

MOTOR AERONÁUTICO PZL-3S — DISPONIBLE EN MAPAC

El PZL-3S es un motor radial de siete cilindros, refrigerado por aire, con una potencia aproximada de 600 CV. Desarrollado en Rzeszów a partir de la familia LiT-3/AI-26 fabricada en Polonia, se convirtió en uno de los auténticos motores de trabajo de la aviación agrícola de su época.

El PZL-3S de transmisión directa equipó al PZL-106A Kruk, mientras que el PZL-3SR con reductor fue utilizado en los PZL-106AR y PZL-106BR.

Esta familia de motores también apareció en otras aeronaves y proyectos agrícolas polacos e internacionales, entre ellos:

• IAR-827A rumano
• PZL M-21 Dromader Mini
• Rockwell/Ayres Thrush S2R-R3S
• Conversión polaca MS-2
• Air Tractor AT-401A
• Determinadas conversiones del Grumman G-164 Ag Cat

Desde Europa y África hasta el continente americano, la familia PZL-3S se ganó un lugar en la historia internacional de la aviación agrícola.

El ejemplar ofrecido actualmente por MAPAC posee una historia especialmente interesante y completamente documentada.

Según sus registros, el motor acumuló menos de 100 horas desde nuevo antes de ser enviado de nuevo a PZL Rzeszów para una reparación especial de fábrica. Tras estos trabajos, se le asignó una vida útil nominal de 700 horas de vuelo.

Desde entonces ha permanecido bajo conservación de fábrica.

Una inspección visual reciente no reveló signos de corrosión. El motor está disponible con todos sus accesorios y con un paquete completo de documentación.

No es solamente un motor aeronáutico. Es una pieza excepcionalmente bien conservada de la ingeniería aeronáutica polaca, preparada para formar parte de un nuevo proyecto de restauración, operación o colección.

✈️ COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM SUPPORT FOR ANTONOV AN-2

Some parts are easy to replace. Others can keep an aircraft on the ground when they are no longer available.

The SZ6800 exhaust manifold system belongs to the second group.

It is an important service component of the Antonov An-2, operating in demanding conditions of high temperature, vibration and repeated thermal cycles. Finding individual replacement sections can be difficult — finding the whole range from one supplier is even harder.
