On Sunday, 4th October, Kraków's newest Wisła crossing, the long awaited Kazimierz–Ludwinów footbridge opened.

I was there to film the final preparations, a pre-opening tour of the bridge, drone footage and the opening ceremony.

The article has 2 videos; video of the opening ceremony, and a drone film, along with background on the 2 decade long project.

The pedestrian middle span - a "sinusoidal" (wave-like) design -has a short lower section, close to the water, and rises 16m (53ft) above the water level, to a view point, complete with benches, to enjoy views of the river and surroundings.

Chicago’s Trap Door Theatre return to Kraków with their critically acclaimed production of ‘The Martyrdom of Peter Ohey’.

A rare opportunity to see English-language theatre - a Polish play, peformed in Kraków by a Chicago theatre group!

Trap Door Theatre Company will be performing the play at Teatr Scena Pod Ratuszem – The stage under the town hall tower, on Rynek, on Thursday 1st October.

On Sunday 27th September, the first round of the elections to choose the next Mayor of Kraków will take place.

Citizens of the EU and the UK, who are over 18 years of age, permanently resident in Kraków, and who have registered to vote, can take part in this important election.

Kraków Celtic Festival 2026
This Weekend! 4th-6th September

The 2nd edition of Kraków Celtic Festival returns this weekend with traditional Celtic music, dance & more.

The festival is free to attend, family-friendly, and open to all.

The pre-festival party is happening now, Thursday 3rd September, at Stary Port.

On Friday 4th September, at 4 pm, there will be a parade from Barbakan via Florianska to Rynek.

Then at 5 pm, the festival opening event takes place at Klub Pod Jaszczurami

The festival continues on Saturday and Sunday at Centrum Kultury Dworek Białoprądnicki.

Wianki 2026 will take place from Friday, 19th June to Sunday, 21st June.

Wianki is one of Kraków’s great Summer music and fun festivals, celebrating the pagan tradition, popular in Slavic countries, of weaving flower garlands or wreaths (Wianki in Polish), which young women wear.

(apologies for some weird line breaks/formatting- I’m working to fix it, but decided to publish now as the events start on Friday – meanwhile, I’ll keep working to squish the gremlins).

Rynek will be a sea of red this evening as tens of thousands of Wisła Kraków fans take over the market square to celebrate their team's promotion to Ekstraklasa.

The final game of the season kicks off at 4.30pm, after the game and the trophy presentation, the fans will march to Rynek, then around 8pm, the players will travel by bus through the city to Rynek, then the real party begins!
