14 May we celebrate the feast of St. Matthias the Apostle, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus. He was chosen to replace Judas Iscariot after his betrayal and su***de.

St Matthias was a faithful follower of Christ and preached the Gospel after his death. He travelled to many countries, bringing the Good News and converting people to the faith. He died a martyr's death in Edessa (now Turkey), probably stoned to death.

Let us remember St Matthias and his martyrdom for his faith in Christ. May his example inspire us to be faithful followers of Jesus and to proclaim the Gospel to the world.
