Most tongue drums are built around one mood. This one is built for harmony.

Chromatic Pulsar has 25 notes in one body: two full octaves from E3 to E5.

In this video I am not playing a finished piece. I am simply testing harmonic movement, dense chords and more complex musical colors to show what becomes possible when the instrument is not limited to a small pentatonic or modal scale.

Most tongue drums and RAV-style instruments are built around one fixed mood.
Chromatic Pulsar is different: it gives a wider melodic and harmonic range for musicians who want to explore composition, structured playing and more complex harmony.

First sound demo of Pulsar Deep.

This is one of the five new ready Pulsar models by Yudin Workshop.

Pulsar Deep was designed for a dark, deep and meditative sound state: slow playing, evening practice, quiet focus and long resonance.

The instrument includes an integrated passive pickup, soft mallets, care wax and a protective bag.

I’m recording something right now that started as yet another experiment, and at one point I even thought, “Damn, I’ve ended up with something weird again.”

I had to spend quite a bit of time exploring and understanding it. And now I don’t want to send it to its owner because it feels like I’ve finally made the instrument I’ve been dreaming of creating since 2017…
