Let’s be honest...in heavy industry, size truly matters💪

We’ve just unloaded two massive headstock at our facility. To genuinely capture their unprecedented scale, just look at the first photo. Krzysztof is standing right between them, providing the ultimate reference point. The second photo shows these giants in all their glory.

For the engineering enthusiasts out there:

• 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿: ISO 60 (with automatic clamping)

• 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿: 73 kW (S1 continuous duty)

• 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗾𝘂𝗲: over 5,500 Nm on the spindle!

• 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 2-speed gearbox operating with heavy-duty hardened gears

• 𝗠𝗮𝘅 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱: 2,000 rpm

Standing next to parts like these is when you truly realize the sheer masses, forces, and torques we will be dealing with. In projects of this caliber, micron-level engineering precision must perfectly synchronize with raw, massive steel. Our assembly team has a fantastic challenge ahead.

This hall in Germany will serve as the operational base for part of our assembly team over the next few weeks.

The project?

Complete disassembly of a massive WALDRICH SIEGEN machine tool, followed by a full technical modernization before relocation and recommissioning.

Projects like this are far more than heavy lifting.

They require precision planning, engineering expertise, and close coordination at every stage, from dismantling to final startup.

Yesterday marked World Day for Safety and Health at Work. At DTi Machine Tools, we celebrate it the only way that truly matters, by turning theory into real-world skills. Early Today our team was undergoing intensive, hands-on training in fire safety and first aid.

In an environment of heavy-duty CNC machining, where we deal daily with:

A multi-ton column… moving by hand? Yes. Thanks to hydrostatics.

We’ve entered the next stage of the GMC machine tool build: the column is now moving along the 30-meter bed on a hydrostatic system. An oil film creates a gap between metal surfaces of approx. 0.05–0.07 mm, allowing the column to literally “float” above the guideways.

With no metal-to-metal contact, friction is reduced to fluid friction only. This eliminates wear, ensures smooth motion, and maintains ultra-high positioning accuracy over the entire travel length ⚙️

The result?

Even a massive column can be moved precisely-by hand-by our hydrostatics specialist. This is engineering that combines scale with control.
