We’re introducing StratoPOD - an automated launch station for stratospheric balloons, about the size of a garden shed. One operator sets it up. The pod fills the balloon, doses the gas, and releases it through a sliding roof in around 20 minutes. It runs on hydrogen generated on site instead of helium, which cuts the cost of a launch by roughly 70%.
It will become the launch layer under the family of Supercluster’s projects, including StratoEYE (Earth observation), StratoRAD (radiation testing), StratoNAV (stratospheric balloon autopilot), and future projects.
StratoPOD is at TRL 5 today, moving to an operational hydrogen demonstrator at TRL 6.
StratoPOD is developed within the “IDEA Global” accelerator, selected for funding under call FENG.02.28-IP.02-001/23, operated by HugeTECH sp. z o.o. It is one of 9 projects selected from 858 applications.
