📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE: The new MOS portal will officially launch on April 27, 2026

Starting from April 27, 2026, applications for:
✅ Temporary residence permit
✅ Permanent residence permit
✅ EU long-term resident permit

➡️ will be accepted only online through the MOS portal.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE
For individuals whose legal stay expires before April 27, 2026 or within around 2 weeks after that date, it is strongly recommended not to delay filing the application and to submit it as soon as possible in paper form.

📌 Paper applications must arrive at the Voivodeship Office no later than April 26, 2026.
❌ Applications received after this date will not be processed.
❗ The postal sending date will not be taken into account - only the actual date the application is received matters.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR UKRAINIANS IN POLAND (PESEL UKR HOLDERS) 🇵🇱🇺🇦

Urząd do Spraw Cudzoziemców has released a new official update regarding the CUKR residence card application process.

👉 At this moment:
❌ Application are NOT yet open
❌ You cannot submit any paper application or apply at the office

✅ The procedure will be launched online only via a dedicated goverment system (MOS)
✅ The official start date will be announced soon

🚨 Today the immigration office has officially announced that the MOS2 system is expected to be implemented soon. This system will serve as the exclusive platform for submitting online applications for temporary residence permits, permanent residence, and long-term EU residence permits.

🧾 Detailed information will be provided at least 14 days prior to the official launch of the system. Once MOS2 is conducted, paper application for TRC will no longer be accepted and may lead to case rejection.

⚠️ Important: Individuals whose legal stay expires between mid-March and the end of April should not delay submitting your residence permit application. It's strongly advised to submit it as soon as possible to avoid any risks related to legal status.

✈️ Quick & Safe Entry into Poland - What to Prepare for a Smooth Process?

Recently, A2D has received quite a few questions about being questioned during entry at the airport. In fact, if you are well-prepared and know the information, the process is usually very quick.

Below are a few small notes to help everyone feel more confident when going through immigration procedures:

1️⃣ Prepare your personal documents in advance
• Valid passport
• Valid visa or residence card
👉 Keep them handy in your bag to present quickly when requested.

2️⃣ Be clear about your purpose of stay
Customs officers may ask why you are coming to Poland, for example:
• Studying
• Working
• Visiting relatives/family reunion
👉 Just answer truthfully and clearly according to your documents.

3️⃣ Bring relevant documents
Depending on your case, you should prepare some documents such as:
• Admission letter
• Invitation letter for family visit
• Family reunion decision
• Return flight ticket
• Hotel booking
• House contract or accommodation confirmation in Poland
👉 They may not always ask, but it’s better to have them ready.

4️⃣ If entering via a third country (not on a transit flight)
For example, flying to Germany, the Netherlands, or France before entering Poland, you should:
• Know your travel itinerary
• Know where you will stay
• Prepare train/bus/connecting flight tickets if any
👉 This helps you answer confidently if asked

5️⃣ Stay calm
When dealing with customs officers:
• Answer briefly and to the point
• No need to say too much
• Stay calm and cooperative
👉 Usually, if your documents are valid, the check only takes a few minutes

💭 Permanent residency applications only submitted online – convenient or will it cause complications?

📍 An important change is being proposed: applications for long-term residence permits may soon only be submitted electronically via the MOS system (Moduł Obsługi Spraw), instead of submitting paper documents in person as before.

📍 According to the new draft:
• Applications will be filled out and submitted entirely online
• A photo and a full scan of the passport must be uploaded to the system
• Instead of a stamp in the passport, applicants will receive an electronic confirmation
• In-person visits to the office will only be required when requested (e.g., for fingerprinting, presenting original documents)

👉 The stated goal is to reduce the administrative burden and save time for applicants.

🤔 However, this also raises some questions:
❓ Will the electronic system operate reliably and transparently?
❓ Will foreigners face difficulties submitting their applications online by themselves?
❓ Will the absence of a stamp in the passport affect the ability to prove legal residence status while waiting for approval?
❓ Is this truly a step forward for faster procedures, or will it create new problems?
Currently, this regulation is still in the draft stage and awaiting the official implementation date.

🚨 FROM 05/03/2026: RESIDENCE CARD APPLICATION FEES IN POLAND WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IF REFUSED

According to the new regulation, administrative fee (opłata skarbowa) that have already paid will not be refunded if the competent authority issues a decision to refuse or discontinue the processing of the application.

Fees affected include:
🔹 Temporary residence permit: from 85-440 PLN (depending on type)
🔹 Amendment of temporary residence & work permit: 220 PLN
🔹 Permanent residence permit: 640 PLN
🔹 EU long-term resident status: 640 PLN
🔹 Extension of visas:
• Schengen visa: ~30 EUR
• National visa: 406 PLN
🔹 Schengen visa issued at the border by Border Guards: 40-160 EUR depending on the case

⚠️ Important note: This regulation only applies to applications submitted from 05/03/2026 onwards. Applications submitted before this date may still request a refund under the previous regulations.

👥 What obligations does the employer have?

📍 The employer listed in the temporary residence and work permit must notify the Voivode within 15 days if the foreigner loses their job.

🔹 Previously, this obligation applied only to the employee.

📍 Within the same 15-day period, the employer must also report:
🔻 Changes concerning the employer of the user employer
🔻 Transfer of the workplace (or part of it) to another enity
🔻 An increase in working hours (with a proportional salary increase)
🔻 A change in the form of employment from a civil law contract to an employment contract
🔻 A change in the job title, provided that the scope of duties remains unchanged.

🚨 In what cases can a work permit be REVOKED?

🔹 The employer continues to hire a foreign worker despite previously being banned from recruitment
🔹 The employee is found to have submitted forged documents, fake qualifications, or false information
🔹 The employee is on the list of individuals not permitted to reside in Poland
🔹 Avoiding or evading inspections by the Border Guard (SG)
🔹 The company provides misleading information or submits falsified documents during the application process
🔹 The sponsoring company has been dissolved

📢 NOTICE OF CHANGE – RESIDENCE CARD APPLICATION / REPLACEMENT

Wydział Spraw Cudzoziemców Mazowieckiego has updated the customer service procedure regarding applications for issuing or replacing residence cards.

📌 Specifically, the appointment booking option for submitting new or replacement residence card applications via the inPOL portal has been disabled.

👉 How to submit your application now:
1️⃣ Submit in person at the Foreigners’ Department
• Take a ticket marked with the letter E from the ticket machine
• Go to the mezzanine floor (antresola) - Counter No. 17

2️⃣ Submit at the Customer Service Point - pl. Bankowy 3/5 (Entrance F from al. Solidarności)
⚠️ Service is available only with a queue ticket from the machine or an online appointment booked via: www.e-uslugi.mazowieckie.pl

3️⃣ Submit at other branch offices or send your application by post to the office address.
