🌟 Breaking the Burnout Cycle: Addressing the „Overachiever” and „Better Man” Syndrome 🚀
Too often, women in business find themselves trapped in a relentless cycle of overwork and overwhelm, and the culprit? The insidious „overachiever” and „better man” syndrome. 🚫
Here’s the deal: Many of us feel the pressure to excel in every aspect of our professional lives, striving to meet unrealistic standards and expectations (which we very often set ourselves). We push ourselves to the limit, sacrificing our well-being on the altar of success. Sound familiar? 🙃
The „overachiever” syndrome whispers in our ears, urging us to do more, achieve more, be more. We measure our self - worth (not even self -esteem) by our productivity and accomplishments, constantly chasing the next milestone, promotion, or accolade.
And then there’s the „better man” syndrome, where we feel compelled to prove ourselves in still male-dominated corporate landscape, constantly striving to prove that we’re just as capable, if not more so, as our male counterparts. We work hard to “earn” the recognition, battling stereotypes and biases every step of the way. Along the way, without even noticing, we enter more and more into the masculine energy of competition, striving, goals and results, losing the necessary balance with (natural to u) female energy of intuition, empathy, creativity, and emotional intelligence.
We need to change these narratives. But not by by entering the roles of „overachiever” and „better man” and then complaining about the outcomes. If the cause is in us, the solution is in us- It is all about changing the paradigm, the belief and the mindset.
🙌Your self - worth doesn’t depend on your achievements.
🙌Focus on your inner potentials, talents and cultivate them, rather that striving to be as… as somebody..
It is not about them.. It is all about you - your fulfilment, your satisfaction, your joy.
Together, let’s rewrite the narrative and create a workplace culture that values well-being, authenticity, and inclusivity.
