The Conference is a simulation of the United Nations assembly and it works according to the standards of the organization. The students represent a selected country, negotiate in various committees, seek solutions to global problems, discuss and make speeches, always taking the country’s policies into consideration. Over the past fourteen years, Warsaw Model United Nations has grown rapidly both i

n number of committees and delegates and it is the biggest event of that kind in the region. The Conference is organized by the students of a renowned Polish school, Batory High School in Warsaw.

Let us introduce our final guest speaker - Thomas Julien, the First Secretary of the Belgian Embassy in Poland and Lithuania!

Thomas Julien has vast experience in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Belgium. Prior to joing the diplomatic corps, he worked at the FEB - Federation of Enterprises in Belgium before pursuing an MBA in International Management at ESCP Business School in London and Berlin.

We are pleased to introduce our second guest speaker - Marc Bruchez, the Deputy Head of Mission at Swiss Embassy to Poland.

Marc Bruchez took over on the 2nd of August, arriving directly from his previous posting in Athens, where he also held the same position for 5 years. He holds a lawyer’s license and joined the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and was also posted in Bogota, Bucharest, and Bern.

It is our pleasure to introduce our Honorary Guest Speaker - Szymon Hołownia, Marshall of the Sejm (2023-2025), currently Vice Marshall of the Sejm!

Szymon Hołownia is a Polish politician and Vice Marshall of the Polish Sejm, who served as Marshall of the Sejm from November 2023 to November 2025. He is also engaging in diplomacy in the United Nations, running for UN High Commissioner for Refugees. He has played a substantial role in Polish politics in recent years, his achievements including: establishing the Polska 2050 political party, running for president in the 2020 and the 2025 elections and becoming the Marshall of the Sejm. He advocates for pro-European policies and believes NATO and the EU to be central for Polish development and safety.
