We always enjoy seeing a returning customer, especially when they’ve amassed quite the collection of our products over the years.

Head-Fi.org user jonathan c is a perfect example. In one of his recent posts, he wrote:

“.... I have six Noir Hybrids (TRS, XLR: for Audeze/ZMF, Focal Clear, Senns). Noir Hybrid is great with my 2016 vintage Audeze LCD-X.”

After 15+ years in the business, the day has finally come. We have the pleasure — and, frankly, the privilege — of having arguably the rarest headphones ever made sitting right here at Forza AudioWorks.

Yes. The glorious Sony MDR-R10. In the flesh. And what a headphone it is. Or… is it? That’s something we don’t know yet.

The particular MDR-R10 that has found its way to us has one driver that’s not working. So instead of simply admiring this legendary piece of headphone history, we’ve been given a rather more interesting mission: try to bring it back to life. And we really, really hope we can.

The MDR-R10 is one of those headphones that has achieved almost mythical status in the head-fi world. Getting one into our hands after all these years would already be a pretty extraordinary experience. Getting one that needs to be revived makes the whole thing even more special. For us, this is about more than just another headphone on the workbench.

Having an MDR-R10 here is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Now, let's see if we can make this legend sing again.

Most audio shows get relatively short previews—just enough to highlight a few products, a few rooms, and some of the exhibitors.

The Head-Fi.org crew took a very different approach ahead of CanJam SoCal 2026, which took place this weekend. Their preview coverage is nearly seven hours long and features dozens of exhibitors, brands, and products from across the headphone industry.

That's an incredible amount of work and a great resource for anyone who couldn't make it to the show.

Huge respect to the Head-Fi team for the effort and dedication that went into putting it together.

The biggest headphone and personal audio show in Southern Californi...

Do you folks know the company Dyson known for vacuum cleaners? Well, several years back it also made headphones, albeit in its own unusual style.

Meet the Dyson Zone. A pair of noise-cancelling headphones... with a detachable air purifier strapped to your face.

Somewhere in a meeting room, an engineer must have said, "People already wear headphones. Why not let them inhale HEPA-filtered air at the same time?" And instead of security escorting him out, someone approved the budget.

The result looks like what happens when Bane, Daft Punk and a Dyson V15 have a child together.

The best part? The purified air doesn't actually create a seal around your face. It simply blows two tiny streams of freshly filtered air toward your nose and mouth, while everyone around you wonders whether you're about to defuse a bomb or invade a small country.

To be fair, the headphones themselves were reportedly quite decent. But asking people to spend well over a thousand dollars to cosplay as a cyberpunk vacuum cleaner was always going to be... ambitious.

We still can't decide whether this was the bravest consumer electronics product ever made or the greatest case of "just because you can doesn't mean you should."

Either way, hats off to Dyson. In an industry drowning in clones, they delivered something nobody asked for, nobody expected, and almost nobody bought.

Sometimes engineering brilliance and complete madness are separated by nothing more than a PowerPoint presentation.

Here at FAW, we're used to receiving good feedback, and we always appreciate when it's detailed. Head-fi.org user osonte left us something along those lines for sure:

"I have previously written about my first impressions of the Forza Claire HPC Mk2 cable, which I listen to with a Sennheiser HD660S2. I could only write good things at the beginning, but back then I didn't know what its sound would be like when I burn-in the cable. Now I have reached 150 hours of listening to music with the cable and I can write a definitive opinion. It was a very nice journey in sound for all 150 hours. Many people may not believe it or not hear that the sound of the cable changes as it reaches its final sound. It was the same here, around 30-40 hours the high range cleared up nicely, but the bass weakened a bit. At that time, I decided not to "be subtle" by burning in the cable and after 40 hours of listening to music, I connected it to the large desktop system and listened to electronic music directly on it with a lot of bass, at a high volume, which does not damage the headphones. I did this until the 100-hour state and the positive result was achieved, the cable had a very tight bass and true subrange. It could have achieved this at a lower volume maybe, but when I sometimes read negative reviews, the question arises in my mind that the proper burn-in of the cable could also be the key to a good end result. It is no coincidence that there are expensive devices that are manufactured to burn in cables, where complete burn-in occurs in 24-48 hours make, but at very high power, which the headphones would not be able to tolerate, and the frequency range is also extremely low and especially in the high range, which it constantly changes. Moving on from 100 hours to the final 150-hour current state, the cable has a very clear, precise sound, but not a clinical sound, but one that can be listened to for any length of time without fatigue. I am sure that this 7N OCC copper is the best-sounding copper cable I have ever heard, it is so unlike the usual copper coloration in sound that if I didn't know what kind of cable it is, I wouldn't dare to guess, because it goes so high in the treble, but there is nothing excessive or offensive and the bass also starts very sub, it definitely does its job, it doesn't warm up the sound, but it is still pleasant. After a tired day, you can easily listen to music for 5-7 hours, which exudes peace, but still gives details. The sound is excellent not only because of the quality of the cable, but also because of its very precisely braided structure, the sounds are excellently separated in width and space, although the Sennheiser 600 headphones are not the most outstanding in that. The cable is made with such millimetre-precise precision, I wish every company would work so conscientiously. I am sure that if I need a cable again, I will not choose anything else. Thanks again for the great sounding cable!"

A cup of tea. Saturday afternoon. A good review to digest. Short and sweet, just the way we like it!

Head-fi.org user osonte had this to say about one of our cables:

"My Forza Claire HPC Mk2 cable for my Sennheiser HD660S2 headphones arrived half a day ago (in 5 working days), complete system in the last picture. I can write first impressions because the cable needs to be Burn-in and has already changed in the first few hours, to which I compare it at the end with a Japanese Furukawa cable with Furutech connectors. First of all, as I wrote at the beginning, the package arrived in Hungary quickly. The packaging is demanding, but what is even more important is that the cable is made very carefully, paying attention to the smallest details, for example, the inscriptions are facing the right direction, the right side is marked on the headphone connector, the heat shrink is precisely cut evenly. Unfortunately, when I ordered a unique headphone cable in Hungary, I received a pretty bad job, both aesthetically and the soldering broke after 1-2 hours, which is no wonder, because it was such an ugly job, I had to repair it myself. That's why I chose the FAW cable, because I asked whoever had it for close-up pictures and saw the meticulous work. What I really like is that the cable is very light, but the conductor wire in it is not thin. The weight is important, because I use it for DAP and the previous 3-meter cable was much heavier and uncomfortable. The cable has no microphone effect. At first glance, I think its sound will not be worse than the Japanese Furukawa cable, I think it has more space, the treble goes quite high, but is not offensive, and the bass is precise. It doesn't seem to me that it has the typical copper sound, strong bass, duller lows, but rather tries to reproduce the original sound more neutrally, less colored than most copper. Of course, when I have listened to it for several hundred hours, I will return to its final sound, but it will definitely change in a good direction, it sounds clearer and clearer even in the first few hours. For my part, I did not regret buying the cable!"
