Bioprocessing technology has advanced rapidly, yet many high-tech labs still face a manual bottleneck at the sampling stage. Scientists are often forced to act as the "bridge" between disconnected devices, manually typing results and risking data entry errors.

We recently partnered with a global life sciences innovator to solve this exact problem. Their goal was to create a self-driving system where critical quality attributes are measured and controlled in real-time, eliminating manual intervention.

By engineering a custom middleware driver and utilizing MTP standards, we established a "digital handshake" between the bioreactor and third-party analytical devices.

The result of closing the loop?

For a leading Biologics CDMO, ensuring total data integrity meant one thing: eliminating paper logbooks and manual transcription once and for all.

We partnered with a European client to overhaul their Quality Control operations. The "As-Is" state involved disconnected equipment and "confetti" printouts, making it impossible to maintain a true audit trail.

Our goal was clear: implement a Laboratory Ex*****on System (LES) that serves as a Single Source of Truth.

We moved the client from a legacy workflow to a fully integrated ecosystem where:
🟡 Transcription errors are eliminated (100% automated data capture).
🟡 Measurements are "gated" by the system, checking analyst training and instrument calibration before work begins.
🟡 Compliance with ALCOA+ and 21 CFR Part 11 is built into the process, not checked after the fact.

The best algorithms are useless if the people at the lab bench are afraid to turn them on.

In our latest project, we identified that the barrier to a fully automated lab wasn't technical capability. It was "Black Box Anxiety". Operators kept systems in manual mode because they feared the automation might fail.
