Current watches, warnings, and advisories for Puerto Rico
Rip Current Statement issued February 13 at 4:04PM AST until February 14 at 6:00AM AST by NWS San Juan PR
* WHAT...Life-threatening rip currents due to large breaking
waves up to 10-11 feet. Occasionally higher waves are
possible.
* WHERE...Beaches from Aguada and Rincon in western Puerto Rico
eastward across the north coast to Fajardo and Ceiba in
eastern Puerto Rico and further east to Culebra and Saint
Thomas.
* WHEN...For the High Risk of Rip Currents, through late tonight.
* IMPACTS...Rip currents that can sweep even the best swimmers
away from shore into deeper water where it becomes difficult
to return to safety. High waves that can wash over jetties and
sweep people and pets onto jagged rocks. Large breaking waves
generating hazardous coastal conditions and localized breach
erosion.
