Another unforgettable week of leadership, connection, and growth.

This year's Global Leadership Conference brought together students and staff from three different TRIO SSS Programs. Seminole State College of Florida, Troy University, and the University of North Alabama joined us for a week of collaboration, challenge, and discovery in Puerto Rico.

Through leadership workshops, team challenges, hands on experiences, and countless conversations, students explored what leadership looks like in the real world: building relationships, embracing new perspectives, and stepping outside their comfort zones.

Thank you for trusting Zion Leadership Group and for joining us as we kick off another incredible summer season.

Until next time. 🌎

Every Global Leadership Symposium begins with a simple question:

What is the importance of a first impression?

One of the most impactful moments of our program happens the very first day. Through our First Impressions Workshop, led by Zion Leadership Group Founder Adrian Rosado, students are challenged to reflect on how they present themselves, how they connect with others, and how they are perceived by the people around them.

What starts as a simple exercise quickly becomes a powerful opportunity for connection, self awareness, and growth. Students leave with new perspectives, meaningful conversations, and a stronger sense of confidence that carries throughout the entire experience.

It’s more than an icebreaker. It’s the foundation for the relationships, leadership development, and personal growth that follow.

We’re excited to welcome students and staff from Seminole State College, the University of North Alabama, and Troy University to Puerto Rico for the 2026 Global Leadership Conference.

This upcoming week, participants will explore leadership, career readiness, culture, history, higher education, and hands on learning through immersive experiences across the island. From leadership workshops and college tours to culinary experiences, STEM exploration, and cultural immersion, this program is designed to help students grow as leaders while building meaningful connections and expanding their perspective of the world.

Summer 2026 is officially underway, and we couldn’t be more excited to begin another season of learning, leadership, and life changing experiences.

If you had to choose…

Learning bomba from some of the island’s best instructors, cooking a traditional Puerto Rican dish with a MasterChef, learning the basic steps of salsa dancing, visiting a remote paradise island by boat, horseback riding through Puerto Rico’s countryside, trying unforgettable local food, exploring one of America’s most historic and picturesque cities, or creating your own business and pitching it to professionals…

Which one would you choose? Let us know in the comments!

Luckily, when you come to our Global Leadership Symposium in Puerto Rico, you get to do all of this and more in just one trip.
Because leadership isn’t only learned in a classroom. It’s experienced through connection, creativity, confidence, and the moments that push you to grow... Puerto Rico is waiting.

Hearing students from Everett Community College reflect on their experience in Puerto Rico; The connections they made, the confidence they gained, and the memories they’ll carry with them is what the Zion Leadership Group experience is all about.

Leadership isn’t just taught in a classroom. It’s built through new cultures, new conversations, shared experiences, and moments that challenge us to grow. A new season of learning, connection, and global leadership is about to begin, and we can’t wait to welcome the next groups this summer.

This week, we don’t only pause to honor and remember those who served on Memorial Day, we also celebrate the birthday of the leader behind what Zion Leadership Group has become.

Today we celebrate Adrian Rosado for leading with integrity, vision, and purpose. Through Zion, has created spaces where students, educators, and underrepresented communities can feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow.

From classrooms and conferences to leadership experiences around the world, his commitment to opening doors and building bridges continues to impact thousands of lives.

Thank you for believing in people, in education, and in the power of meaningful experiences. Happy Birthday, Adrian. Here’s to another year of leadership, impact, and inspiration.

1,600 students. 40 workshop sessions.
Led almost entirely by students teaching students.

At the KU GEAR UP STEAM Fest in Kansas City, high school scholars from NEIU TRIO Upward Bound stepped into leadership roles to guide middle school students through hands on STEM activities, proving that mentorship and representation matter.

One of the most powerful things we’ve seen through programs like this is how much younger students connect with leaders who look like them, understand them, and were recently in their same shoes.

This is what experiential leadership looks like. Learning by doing. Leading by example.

Leadership and connection can happen through many different forms of art and shared experiences.

A few years back, our team traveled to Manila, Philippines, where MasterChef contestant and culinary storyteller Alejandro Toro led a culinary workshop at the Center for Culinary Arts Manila. Together with students and chefs, he prepared traditional Caribbean, Puerto Rican, and Venezuelan dishes while sharing stories, techniques, and conversations about the flavors and traditions that shape our cultures.

What began as a cooking workshop quickly became something bigger, students asked questions, exchanged ideas, cooked together, and experienced culture from across the world through food.

At Zion, this is part of what we believe in most, creating bridges between people through immersive experiences that make the world feel a little smaller and our connections a little stronger. Whether through leadership, education, culture, STEAM, or the arts, we believe experiences like these help inspire global understanding and meaningful human connection.
