Toward SMEs development in Palestine
*The Project and Objectives*
The Business Development Services Enhancement (BDS) Project is a 3-year-long project implemented by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and hosted by the Ministry of National Economy (MoNE), in coordination with other stakeholder organizations, mainly; The Palestinian Federation of Chambers (PFCCIA) and The Palestinian F
ederation of Industries (PFI). The main object of the project is to develop an effective and sustainable BDS system for SMEs in Palestine by enhancing and building the capacities of employees in unions, chambers, and its federations to become national experts and consultants to deliver BDS to their member SMEs, which will foster the competitiveness, quality, and productivity of the MSMEs and the overall national economy. Project activities:
The two main components of the project are:
1) To build the capacity of participants in 4 main areas (Modules) of BDS:
Production & Sales management
Marketing
Strategic Management
Financial Management,
which are delivered by Japanese experts by combining theoretical and practical training activities. These trainings are followed up by On the Job Trainings (OJT) at selected companies.
2) To develop a framework of a BDS provision system by MONE, FPCCIA and PFI and their umbrella organizations, as well as an outreach plan to further increase the number of BDS consultants. Training of Trainers (ToT), workshops and seminars, etc......................
Major achievements as of January 2016
More than 80 trainees have participated in training activities in phase I and Phase II from the West Bank and Gaza.
9 participants has become national expert, where the total target number is 15 by the end of the project. 15 Expert in specific field will be expected as well. For more info please check our website
