O Open Call: Projetos de Inovação Digital destina-se a apoiar empresas a acelerar o ciclo da inovação, reduzindo significativamente o time-2-market de novos produtos e serviços com uma forte componente digital.

Inscrições abertas! ➡️ Programa de Inovação MEDIA OPEN CALL, liderado pelo PCI · Creative Science Park, no âmbito da AMCC - Aveiro Media Competence Center Test Bed.

Este programa é dirigido a startups e pequenas e médias empresas (PMEs), nacionais e internacionais, que estejam a desenvolver soluções tecnológicas – novas ou adaptadas – em áreas como Inteligência Artificial (IA), Big Data, Realidade Virtual e Realidade Aumentada, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), entre outras, com aplicação ao setor dos media:

➡️ Meios de comunicação: imprensa online e impressa, rádio e serviços audiovisuais.
➡️ Entretenimento audiovisual: cinema, TV, streaming, videojogos e formatos inovadores como experiências de realidade virtual e realidade aumentada.
➡️ Transformação dos Media: transição digital, novos processos e, novos modelos de negócio.

Durante o período entre 28 de fevereiro e 5 de maio, as empresas que pretendam acelerar a tecnologia e implementar pilotos em ambiente real, podem participar nas sessões de Q&A, de forma a ter acesso ao máximo de informação sobre o programa.

AMCC, represented by the Executive Director João Moraes Palmeiro, will take part on the presentation of the National Test Beds Network on October 4th, from 5pm to 6:30pm, at Aveiro Tech Week.

This session aims to discuss the impact of Test Beds on supporting innovation and consequent economic development, from laboratory validation of products and services to their commercialization phase.

The concept of Test Beds - considered as innovation hubs and framed in the Companies 4.0 Incentive System - aims to create a national network of infrastructures and equipment for testing and experimenting with innovative products and services by SMEs and startups with the aim of accelerate its industrialization, commercialization and its digital transition process.

Member of the European Parliament, João Albuquerque, will promote on September 22nd, 10:30 am, at the Universidade de Aveiro, the event "The Media Sector in Europe - what challenges for Portugal within the framework of the European Media Freedom Act".

The initiative comes at a time when the European Parliament is discussing the European Commission's legislative proposal on media freedom - the European Media Freedom Act - which defines a new set of rules on media pluralism and independence in the EU.

Academics and sector agents will be present, such as University Professor and former Secretary of State for Social Communication, Alberto Arons de Carvalho; the President of the Journalist Professional Card Committee, Licinia Girão; the Deputy Director of Information at RTP, Hugo Gilberto; the journalists Nuno Viegas (Fumaça), Frederico Raposo (Mensagem de Lisboa) and Sofia da Palma Rodrigues (Divergente), the Executive Director of the Aveiro Media Competence Center, João Moraes Palmeiro, and the EMFA Rapporteur at the Culture and Education Commission of the European Parliament, Sabine Verheyen.

Within the scope of the TestBed AMCC project, Design Factory Aveiro was the facilitator of the Design Thinking Workshop "Generation of Solutions for Digital Media - Opportunities and Applications for New Technologies", which took place at PCI · Creative Science Park Aveiro Region.

The Aveiro Media Competence Center, in the person of the Executive Director João Moraes Palmeiro, delivered an Honoroble Mention to Diogo Sousa for his work called "Imaginarium" - a web application for picture searching based on similarities with other images.

The cerimony, organized by Arquivo.pt, happened on 7th July, at Universidade de Aveiro, in Ciência 2023, with the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Elvira Fortunato, and the President of the FCT Board of Directors, Madalena Alves.

The winners of the Arquivo.pt Prize and Honorable Mentions of Público and AMCC will take the stage of Ciência 2023 in the closing ceremony, on July 7th at around 6 pm, with the presence of the President of the Portuguese Republic.

From Aveiro, AMCC TestBed intends to offer SMEs and startups the necessary conditions for the development and testing of new products and services in the media sector, promoting the acceleration of the digital transition process.

AMCC TestBed has a total investment of 2.5 million euros and the consortium is led by PCI · Creative Science Park Aveiro Region and includes NOS Comunicações and NOS Technology, in partnership with Universidade de Aveiro and Google.
