Algarve is the best beach destination in Europe

The Algarve has been voted the best beach destination in Europe for the second consecutive year the World Travel Awards ( WTA ) , a kind of Oscars of the tourism industry . The European edition of the gala was held last Saturday in Turkey and four statuettes awarded to the region , in the categories of best boutique resort , luxury resort , golf resort and villa resort .

The region was named to the Oscars in 14 categories and returned full of statuettes , the most enviable in the industry. In total, the Algarve has received five awards at European level , including the target leading to the beach . It is the region that are the best boutique resort ( Vila Joya , which continues unabated in this category ) luxury resort ( Conrad Algarve ) Golf resort ( Hotel Quinta do Lago ) and villa resort ( Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel ) .

To these distinctions add up six more , because beyond the continental level the WTA still reward the best nationally . The hospitality of the region was the one that stood out , taking out the round with six national awards : best business hotel and best conference hotel in Portugal ( both assigned to the Ria Park Hotel & Spa ) , best family resort ( Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel ) , best golf resort ( Hilton Vilamoura ) , best resort ( Hotel Quinta do Lago ) and best spa resort ( Blue & Green Vilalara Thalassa Resort ) .

« Saturday night smiled at Algarve , a region that has seen prize for the best beach destination in Europe be renewed and achieved other international awards , and even national , the high quality of its hospitality . I am so honored to be in front of one of the biggest tourist destinations in the country and Europe , now again recognized as such ' , says the president of the Algarve Tourism Region , Desiderio Silva , for whom the Algarve was greatly responsible the election of Portugal as the best destination for golf practice . " This award is due to the excellence of the 40 courses in the Algarve ," added the head of the regional body .

The WTA Europe are the result of an online poll conducted by people all over the world and thousands of tourism professionals and travel .

It is good to live in Algarve.
