Braga is one of the top destinations in the Religious Tourism segment, either by its celebrations, which have its epitome in the Holy Week or by its built heritage. Braga, by being one of the oldest Christian cities in the world, owns a wide religious heritage. The churches abound in its historical center like in Rome, the city comes up as a place that crosses the art and the holy in all its manifestations.

The Holy Week liturgical celebrations get a special splendor in the street ordeals, in the Cathedral’s Ceremony, in the Burrinha processions, Teofórica, Ecce Homo with the Farricocos, and the Burial. In this week, Braga is visited by thousands of believers coming from all across the country and also from other countries, getting the status of interest to the Tourism.

But besides the Holy Week, there are other important faith demonstrations in Braga, like the pilgrimage to Sameiro, Mariano sanctuary that comes after Fátima regarding significance, in June and August, and the pilgrimages to São Vicente and Santa Maria da Falperra.

The Porto has won the title of best Erasmus destination of 2024 at the Erasmus Generation Meeting (EGM), the largest European student conference, which recently took place in Seville, reveals the Erasmus Student Network Porto, which was responsible for the application of Invicta, in a statement.

The Portuguese city emerged victorious against the finalists Istanbul, Nicosia, Sofia, and the event's host city.

The initiative, which rewards the best Erasmus destination of the year, was launched by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) in partnership with the European Commission "and seeks to identify best practices in supporting student mobility and highlight the role that local student associations play in making cities better mobility destinations," explains ENS Porto.

"We feel that our efforts have been recognized. As volunteer students, we will continue our hard work to make Porto an increasingly welcoming city. We want all international students to feel at home, to continue choosing our Porto, and to take with them to their countries all the good memories that Invicta provides them," says Vitor Bizarro, president of ENS Porto, a section that supports more than three thousand international students in the city.
