We recently renovated the roof of my own house, where the gable-end wall was constructed from single-skin Tijolo. This meant that the ceiling slab and loft space became extremely hot during the summer months and very cold during the winter.

We subsequently clad the exterior of the gable end with cork façade panels and added insulation to the interior of the loft space. The difference has been remarkable, both in terms of temperature regulation and overall comfort.

I also really like the appearance of the cork façade panels, which give the building a natural and attractive finish while providing excellent thermal performance.

The cork façade panels were supplied by Amorim in Porto.

We recently completed the renewal of the roof at my own house due to damage from Storm Kristin .
My old wooden frame had been supported by 11cm Tijolos for 40 years , amazing it hadn't collapsed before .
I had to use Roofing Panels from Atlas as the insurance company didn't pay out enough for a tile roof but i managed to find double thickness tile effect ones with extra fire retardancy built in .
We then made triangular type ring beams at each gable end and connected them to the concrete support pillars of the house .
We also used 1000 20cm roofing fixings into a wooden frame also connected to the concrete frame of the house and 42 tubes of Sika flex so it definitely shouldn't blow away in another storm ☔️ .

So in a really boring but amazing update we have been using a lot of this product when fixing people's roofs and panels .
It's like something out of a science fiction movie !

here are it's benefits-

* Excellent adhesion to many materials. It chemically and mechanically bonds to concrete, stone, wood, metal, ceramics, glass and many plastics, often without needing a primer.
* It stays flexible. Unlike brittle adhesives, Sikaflex-11 FC can stretch by several hundred percent before failing. That means vibration, expansion and contraction don’t easily crack the bond.
* High tear resistance. Even if a joint starts to separate, the cured polyurethane resists tearing, making it much harder to pull apart than many silicones or acrylic sealants.
* It cures into a solid elastomer. As it reacts with moisture in the air, it forms a dense cross-linked polymer that combines the toughness of rubber with the strength of an adhesive.
* Weather resistance. It withstands water, temperature changes and outdoor exposure well, so the bond stays strong for years.

so basically in the event of a hurricane it will stretch and act like rubber but it won't snap . amazing.

This is the first house we have repaired that was damaged badly in the storms it will be totally waterproof today and retiled totally next week .
We have been fixing the tiles as well as adding a waterproof membrane underneath to protect against high winds and water ingress .
The tiles on the ridge and hips are mechanically fixed first and then the mortar has Sika products in to make it less prone to cracking in the heat and wet .

that was exciting wasn't it !! crikey ....

so after i have fixed my own roof and my co workers roofs , we will be quoting for insurance claim roof replacements . we have a bit of list of clients in the queue but always happy to help people our when we can .

I spent a day this week going out and meeting new customerwho want new pool installations and landscaping wirh Ricardo from Fapicentro .
They manufactured and fitted over 250 new pool last year and have a 30 year history based in Leiria where they have a big showroom .
The pool shown on the picture was installed 7 years ago and the actual pool still looks new , the client is very happy with it , it works well for her airbnb.
