✍️ PETITION: Support for Mothersurf Café to Rebuild a Temporary Shelter

We’re asking Newquay Town Council to grant permission for Mothersurf Café to rebuild a temporary, weatherproof shelter for their outdoor seating area.

Mothersurf isn’t just a café — it’s a safe, inclusive, welcoming space for everyone. It’s somewhere people connect, find support, and feel less alone. Without weather protection, this space becomes unusable for much of the year, threatening a place that so many rely on.

This shelter would:
• Protect patrons from wind and rain
• Help keep a vital local business running year-round
• Preserve an inclusive and supportive community hub

This is about care, inclusion, and common sense — not permanent construction, just a temporary solution so Mothersurf can continue serving Newquay in all seasons.

Storm Goretti hit us hard here at MotherSurf. We lost our roof and took a lot of damage. Thankfully we had a great team of people to help us clear it. Crazy what a week’s difference makes, the first photo was taken only days before we were hit by 100mph winds. We’re working hard behind the scenes to get it back to what it was before, and we appreciate everyone’s help. Even just coming down to get a coffee from us, it all helps. Thanks everyone, bring on the summer! 🌊🏄‍♂️🌍🌱

No roof?… No problem! Some would say it just makes the view even better now 😉😇 We’re still here so come down and grab a coffee, some good food and enjoy the vibes with us! Massive thank you to everyone’s support after the storm damage, we are so grateful to have such a strong community. MotherSurf lives on 🌞🌬️🌊

If you’re stuck with what to do with your tree from MotherSurf now that Christmas is over, you can bring it down to us on the Killacourt and we will take care of it for you!😇🎄🌊 They will be chipped up and used on flowerbeds!🪴🌷🌱

For New Year’s Eve at MotherSurf this year we’ve put together a Cocktail menu with some of the greatest classics 🍸🍹🎆 Don’t miss out on our happy hours from 5pm-7pm where cocktails are £5 each, also 2 for 1 on draught pints for our non cocktail drinkers !!! 🍻 Bring your friends and have a boogie with our DJ 5pm til late, we can’t wait to see you there!

What a night!!! Huge thanks to everyone for coming to MotherSurf’s first quiz night and Rattler Party, it was a great turnout and loads of fun! Lots of happy faces after the raffle and not to forget the £2 pints of Rattler!! Massive thanks to !!! A really nice way to kick off the festivities, keep your eyes out for more events!!!
