Have you already filed your tax return, or are you still procrastinating? 👀
📌 IRS 2026 (income tax for 2025)
All tax residents in Portugal are required to file a tax return, even if their income was zero. You may be considered a tax resident even if you haven’t received your residency card yet.
📅 When can you do it?
From April 1 to June 30, 2026.
If you miss the deadline, you may face a fine and lose certain tax benefits.
💰 What happens after submitting tax declaration?
You might receive a tax refund if you overpaid, or you may need to pay additional tax depending on your situation.
🌐 How to do it?
Through Portal das Finanças
💼 How we can help
We can file your tax return remotely, making sure everything is accurate and helping you avoid overpaying or facing penalties.
We also provide consultations to help you understand the Portuguese tax system and optimize your taxes — both for individuals and businesses. We can also assist with applying for special tax statuses (such as NHR 2.0).
⏳ The deadline is June 30, but it’s better not to leave it until the last minute. May is often the best time to file, as the system is already running smoothly and accountants still have availability.
