Things I learned from starting my business in a year⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌟 It's a wrap! 2020 - you've been unpredictable. But so am I!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This time last year:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
😵 I was broke⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
😵 I left my home country to start my remote travel life⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
😵 I started a business⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This time this year⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔥 I am financially independent⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔥 I managed to live in 3 different countries⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔥 I lost a lot of nerves and patience, but gained a lot of knowledge on how to do this thing called being your own boss.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So here is what I've learned, and no - I am nowhere near making 6 figures but surely I am owning it my way.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
☄️ 1. Cut your losses, make the leap⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You will be broke, you will be couchsurfing at your friend's house, you will be wondering if this is ever going to work. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You will never be ready! You have to start NOW!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So stock up on patience, prepare for unlimited amount of fails and a few breakdowns⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
☄️ 2. Ask all the questions (especially the stupid ones)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don't be scared to ask stupid questions, reach out to people. You can't know everything and if you don't ask - you won't find out what works best. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
☄️ 3. Search for the best deals⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When there is a will- there is a way. No, you can't afford a website, and you have no idea how you will pay for the 10 types of software you need. Reach out and barter your services, if you can't afford theirs, offer testimonials in exchange for work, it's a win-win - you practice your skills, and others practice theirs.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
☄️ 4. Go personal⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Clients care about who works for them and you should too! There's a million other people that can do what you do, so why choose YOU exactly? Because you fit their brand, because you speak their language, because you showed them your personality and they like you!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🎉 See y'all next year!
