After Las Vegas, Barcelona.

Last week LBC joined the Andersen Consulting Global Partner Meeting. Over four days, from 11th to 14th October, partners from around the world came together around a shared goal: combining complementary capabilities to create more value for clients.

One of the highlights was the Europe & Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Workout on 14 October, designed to bring together firms with complementary capabilities and industry expertise to develop joint value propositions and identify concrete opportunities for collaboration.

We worked in 10 Capability × Industry groups, and each group went through the same exercise:
🔹 What? Which client needs and opportunities matter most in the industry
🔹 Who? Which capabilities and experience complement each other
🔹 Why Andersen? What makes our joint value proposition different
🔹 How? How do we take it to market and work together
🔹 Next? What concrete actions have we agreed on, who owns them, and by when

We left Barcelona with new connections, concrete ideas and an action plan. With project experience across 18 countries in strategy, innovation and AI-powered transformation, LBC brings its own capabilities and international perspective to the network. But the real value lies in what we can achieve together for clients.

AI no longer just answers. It acts. It uses tools, takes initiative, and completes increasingly complex tasks. Yet the biggest challenge is not technological. It is organizational. Organizations must redesign processes, prepare people, clarify accountability, and convert productivity gains into real value.

Carlos Oliveira highlights a paradox: the more accessible intelligence and ex*****on become, the more valuable human judgement becomes. That’s why leaders must evolve from decision makers into architects of systems able to make good decisions.

In practice, leaders must clearly define what can be automated, what requires human intervention, and who is accountable for each agent’s work.

Access to AI isn’t enough. It takes strategy, governance, continuous development and the courage to rethink the organization. AI amplifies our capabilities, but it doesn’t replace purpose, responsibility or discernment.

AI doesn’t lead. People do.

In Mozambique it was the bread. In Luanda it's the coffee. What's on the table changes. The hour the team comes together doesn't.

🎬 The AI Conference 2: The return

Day 4 of GSI AI Frontier 2026, and our cohort was back at Pier 48 for round two of The AI Conference.

What the day had:
→ Agentic testing, AI memory and governance, live from the Theater stages
→ Startups, demos and the people building what's next
→ A 153-year-old cable car ride (with an AI ad inside, of course 🚋)
→ And a Portugal match, watched on a laptop, in the middle of an AI conference 🇵🇹 4-2!

Some might call that a distraction.
We call it balance.

Great leaders don't live in one mode. They go deep on what matters, and they know when to step back, laugh, cheer and reconnect.

That's where perspective comes from.
And perspective is exactly what AI can't give you.

Reading about AI innovation is one thing.
Sitting at Pier 48 while it happens live is another.

On Day 3 of GSI AI Frontier 2026, our cohort joined The AI Conference in San Francisco, alongside 5,500+ builders, researchers and leaders, with 120+ speakers from across the AI ecosystem.

No filters. No summaries. No “you had to be there”.
They were there.

→ Agent memory architectures, presented by the people building them
→ How Google's security teams let agents act, and humans confirm
→ AI governance debated live: "Why are we still governing AI like software?"
→ And one line that summed up the day: "Trust, but verify."

Our participants didn't just learn about the agentic era. They walked through it, explored it, and met some of the people shaping it.

The only thing they didn't fully trust? The robotaxi that took the scenic route to get there.

This is what GSI is about: taking AI out of the slide deck and putting leaders in the room where it’s being built.

That’s how Brandon Middleton, global head of education at Replit, described leading in the age of AI agents. It pretty much summed up day 2 of GSI AI Frontier 2026.

Our cohort spent the day with the companies building the agentic future:

→ Perplexity: an introduction to Perplexity Computer, with Patrick Summers
→ Replit: what happens when anyone can build software with agents
→ Notion: three agent use cases any team can start with tomorrow
→ Scribe: Jennifer Smith on how a 300-person company ranks in the top 1% on efficiency benchmarks

The biggest takeaway? It’s not about having the most AI.
It’s about making AI work with the way your people actually work.
