Last week, QSR joined at the Global Aerospace Cluster Partnership Annual Meeting, represented by Moore.

In a room where the future of aerospace is being sketched in real time, one topic kept orbiting back to centre stage: talent. More specifically, the growing mismatch between global demand and supply, both at local and international levels.

On July 16, doctoral researcher Catarina Farinha (BRU-Unide Iscte) took part in Ciência e Inovação 2026, one of Portugal’s leading events bringing together science, academia, industry and policymakers under the theme “Preparing the future.”

She joined the “Aerospace and Defence” session, presenting a proposal on how to align education, talent and industry to meet the sector’s growing demands.

As the (aero)space sector becomes increasingly critical for competitiveness and innovation, stronger collaboration between universities, industry and public entities is essential. Lifelong learning and continuous upskilling are key to ensuring the adaptability and strength of the workforce.

Developed in collaboration with BRU-Unide, QSR, AED Cluster Portugal, Portugal Space and IPN, this initiative highlights the importance of coordinated strategies to bridge science, education and industry, and to build a more resilient and competitive ecosystem.

Reflecting on a small but meaningful moment.

Although this event took place a few weeks ago, its relevance and impact remain very much present for us and for that reason, it deserves to be highlighted.

We had the privilege of joining a session focused on skills in the space sector, which proved both insightful and inspiring.

A special note of appreciation to Edson Oliveira, whose perspective on space missions brought clarity and depth to a complex field.
To Hugo André Costa, for the reminder that there is always more to discover and that curiosity in space has no limits.
And to Marina Garcia, who, even as moderator, shared valuable insights into HR management, demonstrating a thoughtful and experienced approach.

It was an informal gathering, yet one with real impact, the kind of moment that reinforces the importance of knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary dialogue.
