I'm very happy to share that I am one of the winners of the 14th Edition of WOLDA - Worldwide Logo Design Award, this year counting with 217 logos from 30 countries.

"Nativos - Meco" was distinguished with the Bronze Award for exemplary design and concept in the category Logo New · Europe & Africa.

If there is a privileged corner of the earth, Aldeia do Meco is one of them. Located in the Portuguese Atlantic coast, this small fisherman’s’ village is now famous for its golden sandy beaches and amazing food. However, it developed thanks to agriculture and fishing, especially Arte Xávega, a traditional and artisanal fishing technique. Nativos e Amigos - Meco is a non-profit socio-cultural association aiming to recover and revive old costumes, traditions, and to unite the community. They promote several events to invite youngsters and seniors to share their stories and memories.

The design of the logo highlights the gathering of natives around a bonfire, representing the warmth and celebration of this community rooted in fishing activities and old traditions. The selection of complementary colours represents the sea and the human warmth. The lettering follows the graphics in a clear, yet rustic typeface.
