Why do we, you and me, run away from good things, beautiful things, lovely things? Why do we, you and me, shrink back from greatness? Is it, “self-sabotage”, or, “fear of success”, or, “fear of failure”?
Or, are we, you and me, so convinced by our egos that our rewards lie in the arrival at some culturally predetermined place, and not in the journey towards a purpose?
And, should we, you and me, not arrive at our culture’s “destined location”, or worse, our life’s purpose, this would signal our “death”.
But is it our death or our ego’s death? Is it the thing in us that screams I want to be the ONE! I want to find the ONE! You are the only ONE and you have, no-ONE!
To live deeply, passionately, and with true abandon is to die. And dying is to discipline the ego by ceasing to be the ONE. It is to die a death to oneself and to welcome a life both, both self AND other(s).
John 12:24 “unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.’
