Last Monday, The Georgetown Business Society (GBS) launched its annual business magazine called Enterprise. Saif Kazi, President of GBS, introduced the magazine and welcomed the new co-Presidents Taimur Ali and Karim Malas.
GBS started two years ago to create a connection between Georgetown SFS-Q and the corporate sector of Doha. The students of Georgetown SFS-Q wanted to change the perception of graduates only being experts in the fields of foreign service and academia, to being able to work in other fields, especially in the corporate sector.
Taimur Ali, the newly established co-President of GBS, discussed the importance of a formalized institution that would help equip Georgetown students with necessary skills needed to flourish in the corporate sector.
Ali further discussed how the magazine shows the capability of students in a more tangible way, and is a platform where people can sharpen their skills.
This was the first year GBS collaborated with students from the home campus in Washington D.C, and Ali hopes to have greater collaboration from the students in the main campus, as well as the corporate sector in Doha.
