COMOTI la ECI 2026 Forum Energy • Construction • Innovation

În perioada 30 septembrie – 1 octombrie, COMOTI a participat la prima ediție a ECI 2026 Forum, eveniment dedicat transformării sectorului construcțiilor și accelerării investițiilor în energie regenerabilă și eficiență energetică.

În cadrul evenimentului, COMOTI a fost prezent cu un stand expozițional, unde am prezentat soluțiile și tehnologiile dezvoltate de institut pentru sectorul energetic.

Totodată, am avut oportunitatea de a susține o prezentare dedicată companiei, în cadrul căreia am evidențiat proiectele, tehnologiile și produsele COMOTI destinate pieței de energie.

Participarea la ECI 2026 Forum ne-a oferit oportunitatea de a contribui la dialogul dintre industrie, energie, cercetare și inovare, dar și de a explora noi direcții de colaborare și parteneriate.

🚀 Aerospace and UAVs Trends 2026 | A doua ediție

În perioada 10–11 septembrie, a găzduit cea de-a doua ediție a workshopului „ ”, reunind cercetători, ingineri, reprezentanți ai industriei, furnizori de tehnologie și factori de decizie pentru două zile dedicate inovației și schimbului de idei în domeniul aerospațial.

Discuțiile și prezentările au abordat cele mai recente tendințe, tehnologii și provocări din propulsia aerospațială, sistemele aeriene fără pilot (UAS/UAV) și tehnologiile aerospațiale emergente.

Evenimentul a inclus și o expoziție dedicată tehnologiilor și soluțiilor din domeniu, precum și un tur complet al COMOTI, oferind participanților posibilitatea de a descoperi infrastructura, laboratoarele și facilitățile de cercetare și testare ale institutului.

🚀 COMOTI @ International Space Summit 2026

În această perioadă, Parisul a reunit reprezentanți ai comunității spațiale internaționale în cadrul , 9–10 septembrie 2026, în jurul unor teme esențiale pentru viitor: cercetare și explorare, dezvoltare tehnologică, competitivitate, securitate, sustenabilitate și cooperare internațională.

Comoti - Romanian Research & Development Institute for Gas Turbines, alături de Autoritatea Națională pentru Cercetare - România, Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), National Institute for Laser, Plasma & Radiation Physics și au reprezentat România la acest eveniment din perspectiva mediului de cercetare și a sectorului spatial.

În acest context, Dr. Ing. Radu Mihalache, Președinte – Director General , a asigurat reprezentarea oficială a Institutului, promovând expertiza și capacitățile tehnologice românești și consolidând dialogul cu partenerii internaționali, cu noi perspective pentru colaborare și dezvoltare în sectorul aerospațial.

Această implicare a fost evidențiată și prin participarea , alături de Directorul General , la evimentul – In Conversation with the Stars, organizat de ESA - European Space Agency reafirmând susținerea pentru o Europă puternică și colaborativă în domeniul spațial.

🇷🇴 Un nou proiect COMOTI a trecut cu succes etapa de teste funcționale!

🚀România poate ajunge pe Lună nu doar prin știință, ci și prin tehnologie creată aici, de ingineri români.

🌕 este un proiect dezvoltat de COMOTI, care are ca obiectiv realizarea unei macarale special concepute pentru utilizarea pe suprafața Lunii. Sistemul este gândit pentru a putea manipula încărcături de până la o tonă și ar putea contribui, în viitor, la misiunile lunare ale ESA - European Space Agency.

În luna august, prototipul la scară redusă al macaralei a trecut printr-o campanie de testare funcțională, în cadrul căreia a fost verificată și validată cinematica mecanismului. Imaginile surprind câteva dintre momentele acestei campanii de testare și un pas important în evoluția proiectului.

Finalizarea cu succes a acestei etape deschide drumul către următoarea fază: testarea prototipului în laboratoarele specializate ESTEC ale Agenției Spațiale Europene.

Proiectul este finanțat de , prin contribuția României la ESA, și demonstrează potențialul ecosistemului spațial românesc de a dezvolta tehnologii cu aplicabilitate directă în viitoarele misiuni de explorare.

Potrivit echipei proiectului, sistemul ar putea fi realizat în viitor 100% în România. Asta înseamnă mai mult decât dezvoltarea unui prototip: înseamnă perspectiva construirii unei capacități tehnologice românești care să poată contribui în mod constant la marile proiecte spațiale europene.

🇬🇧 A new project has successfully completed its functional testing stage!

🚀 Romania can reach the not only through science, but also through technology developed here, by Romanian engineers.

🌕 is a project developed by COMOTI with the aim of creating a crane specifically designed for operation on the lunar surface. The system is intended to handle payloads of up to one tonne and could, in the future, contribute to the ESA - European Space Agency lunar missions.

In August, the crane’s scaled-down prototype underwent a functional testing campaign, during which the mechanism’s kinematics were verified and validated. The images capture several moments from this testing campaign and mark an important milestone in the project’s development.

The successful completion of this stage paves the way for the next phase: testing the prototype in ESA’s specialised laboratories.

The project is funded by the European Space Agency through Romania’s contribution to ESA and demonstrates the potential of Romania’s space ecosystem to develop technologies with direct applications in future space exploration missions.

According to the project team, the system could eventually be entirely developed and manufactured in Romania. This represents more than the development of a prototype: it opens the prospect of building a Romanian technological capability able to contribute consistently to major European space projects.

, Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) and Romania’s participation in ESA programmes can provide an essential bridge between Romanian research and industry and the future of European space exploration.

Dr. Marius-Ioan Piso (1954–2026)

The Romanian and international scientific community has lost one of the key figures who shaped the nation’s space sector. Dr. Marius-Ioan Piso was a physicist, researcher, and the founder of the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), leading the organization for nearly two decades and establishing Romania as a respected partner within the global aerospace community.
After graduating in Physics from Babeș-Bolyai University and earning a PhD in Physics, he devoted his career to advancing space science, aerospace technologies, and research infrastructure. His leadership played a decisive role in Romania’s accession to the European Space Agency (ESA) in 2011, opening new opportunities for national research institutes, universities, and high-tech industries.
Internationally, Dr. Piso served in prominent leadership positions within the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) and represented the scientific community in the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UN COPUOS). Throughout his career, he championed international collaboration and the peaceful application of space technologies for the benefit of society.
Beyond his institutional achievements, he inspired generations of scientists and engineers through his commitment to excellence, innovation, and education. His legacy lives on in the partnerships he built, the programs he initiated, and the enduring vision he created for Romania’s future in space exploration.

🚀 Europe’s most advanced robotic arm is taking shape, paving the way for future exploration missions to the and .

The Sample Transfer Arm (STA), developed through an European industrial consortium led by , represents a major achievement in space robotics. With seven degrees of freedom, advanced vision systems, force and torque sensing capabilities, and autonomous decision-making, the robotic arm is designed to perform highly complex operations, including the handling of valuable geological samples on planetary surfaces.
We are proud that COMOTI is part of this ambitious endeavour.

For the mission, developed a critical subsystem: the Hold Down & Release Mechanisms (HDRMs). This subsystem plays a vital role in safeguarding the Sample Transfer Arm throughout its journey from Earth to Mars.
The HDRMs are responsible for securely locking the robotic arm during launch, cruise, and Mars entry, descent, and landing phases, ensuring it withstands extreme mechanical loads, shocks, vibrations, and significant thermal variations encountered during the mission.
Once the Sample Retrieval Lander safely reaches the Martian surface, COMOTI’s mechanisms perform their final task: release of the robotic arm, enabling it to begin its mission of handling and transferring Martian samples.

We are honoured to contribute with Romanian engineering expertise to technologies that will support humanity’s next steps on Mars and future lunar missions.
