YOU MIGHT WANT TO WATCH TO THE END!
This video is such a practical reminder that saturation is not always the problem. Positioning is.

At first glance, selling ramen in an already crowded food market sounds like a bad business idea. There are lots of sellers, tight competition and low chances of standing out.

But what changed the game here was strategy.

Under her father’s guidance, she didn’t just focus on selling food. She focused on attracting attention, creating an experience, and giving customers reasons to come back. And that made ALL the difference.

Honestly, this was also a big lesson for me personally on scaling. Sometimes, growth is not about abandoning what already exists to chase something completely new. It’s about understanding how to position better, serve better, communicate better, and create value people will remember.

A lot of MSMEs believe they need a completely new idea to succeed. Sometimes, what you actually need is:

💢Better positioning
💢Consistency
💢Customer experience
💢Visibility
💢A reason for people to remember you

Because in business, the market may already be crowded but people will always notice businesses that are intentional.

This video really resonated with me because I recently had a conversation with one of my clients about the importance of building relationships, not just chasing sales.

I advised her to intentionally build rapport with other business owners and customers instead of approaching every interaction with only “what can I sell?” in mind.

And the truth is, some of the best opportunities in business come from genuine relationships - referrals, collaborations, visibility, partnerships, repeat customers, and even unexpected opportunities.

A lot of business owners want increased sales, which is valid. But sometimes, the growth you are looking for starts with how well people know you, trust you, and feel connected to your brand.

Interestingly, this also echoes a number of things I’ve shared in my Dear MSME Owner series on this page around customer experience, engagement, positioning, and visibility. You might want to scroll down and revisit some of them.

Sales may bring customers but relationships help keep doors open.

What do you think has helped your business more - marketing or relationships?

In my last post, I talked about why every serious business owner needs a business plan.

Now let’s break it down properly.

What exactly should a business plan contain?
What do all these sections really mean?
And why are they important to your business growth?

This carousel explains the basic components of a business plan in simple terms, from executive summary and market research to financial plan and risk analysis.

Whether you’re just starting your business or trying to structure what you already have, this will help you understand what a proper business plan should actually look like.

And yes, the last slide has all the sections together in one place for your sharing pleasure 😉

Save this post for future reference. Share with a business owner as well.

Many people see a business plan as something you only prepare when looking for investors or applying for funding. In reality, it is much more than that.

A solid business plan gives you a deeper understanding of your business - your market, operations, finances, risks, opportunities, and growth potential.

It helps you make informed decisions instead of running the business based on assumptions.

It is also a practical tool for funding. Investors, grant organisations, and financial institutions want to see structure, clarity, and sustainability before committing resources. A good business plan communicates this effectively.

Beyond funding, it serves as an operational roadmap. It guides your goals, pricing, staffing, marketing, projections, and overall direction of the business.

Without a plan, many businesses move. With a plan, businesses move strategically.

Have you ever written a business plan for your business before?

One pricing strategy I think more Nigerian businesses should adopt is this - Price your items/services individually before introducing a package deal.

For example:

Logo Design - ₦30,000
Social Media Setup - ₦20,000
Content Strategy - ₦25,000

Package Price - ₦60,000

Why is this important?

First, customers can clearly see the value of what they are paying for. Instead of looking at ₦60k as “too much”, they understand the actual cost of each component and see the discount in the package.

Second, it builds transparency and trust. Many customers are more comfortable paying when pricing is broken down clearly.

Third, it helps reduce unnecessary bargaining. Once people understand the individual value of each service, they are less likely to undervalue your work.

Lastly, it positions your package as a smart deal instead of a random price.

In a market like Nigeria where customers are highly price-conscious, how you present your pricing matters almost as much as the pricing itself.

What do you think? Do you prefer seeing individual pricing before a package deal?

Simple reason: I treat your "business" as my "own". I have a sense of ownership and display excellence in every task or project I'm involved in.

That being said, here are ways I can offtake some tasks from your hands this week as a Brand & Business Strategist.
✓Take that proposal, pitch deck, or business document off your hands and deliver it clean and ready
✓ Conduct indepth feasibility study and product research before market entry/market expansion.
✓Create captions and content you can post immediately. No overthinking, no delays!
✓Manage your social platforms so they actually reflect your brand’s identity.
✓Sit with you briefly (physically/virtually) and turn your scattered ideas into structured plans or written assets
✓Help you finally start that book, guide, or thought leadership piece you’ve been postponing
✓Bring clarity to areas in your business/career that feel “almost right but not quite working”

You know you don’t have to carry everything alone. And I know how your day is going right now - calls, decisions, approvals, people waiting on you, and a long mental list of "I’ll get to it."

As the National Captain of Light Vision Global, I’m continuing this series to spotlight the impact of our past events.

Next is the Back-To-School Outreach, Ikorodu (September 2024).

This was more than an outreach. It was a direct response to real needs within our community.

Over 300 people were in attendance, and each household received packaged food items and school supplies, easing the burden on families and preparing children for a better start to the academic session.

But beyond the distribution, this was about something deeper. It was about showing up for people, supporting families and creating real, tangible impact where it matters.

This outreach aligned with key global priorities - SDGs 1,2,3,4,10,11

This is one of the ethos LVG stands for - faith expressed through action and impact.

We are open to individual, local, corporate, and global sponsorships and partnerships.

I got a dividend alert from GTCO earlier this week and mehn, I was excited, not minding the fact that this was a paltry sum😃😃 I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to focus only on earning, and forget about growing what we earn.

For a lot of us, once money comes in (or even before it comes in), it goes right back out - expenses, responsibilities, day-to-day living. But this video is a reminder that income alone is not enough.

Real financial growth starts when your money begins to work for you, not just when you work for money.

It may not look like much at the beginning, but consistency in investing builds something sustainable over time.

Do you currently invest, or are you still figuring it out? Let’s talk in the comments.
