♻️🔋 ECOWES participated in the event “Romania – Sweden: Battery Recycling | Challenges and Opportunities”, organized by the Romanian Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, the Embassy of Sweden in Romania, and Sustainable Living Podcast.

The event brought together representatives from Romanian and European authorities, industry stakeholders, compliance organizations, recyclers, collectors, and key players from the circular economy sector to discuss the challenges and opportunities surrounding the implementation of the new European Batteries Regulation.

For ECOWES, being part of these discussions is particularly important at a time when the European battery recycling industry is undergoing faster transformation.
Topics such as the Battery Passport, digital traceability, harmonization of black mass classification, recovery of critical raw materials, and the development of local recycling infrastructure will play a key role in shaping the future of the industry.

🌍🔋 Education without borders at ECOWES

Yesterday, together with our partners Eco Positive we had the pleasure of welcoming to the E C O W E S facility a group of students from Greece participating in the Second Chance Schools program, from the regions of Edessa, Aridaia, and Giannitsa.

The visit took place an Erasmus+ exchange program, in partnership with Ion Brătianu Technological High School in Bucharest.
During the visit, we presented the full lifecycle of batteries, from collection to processing within our facility. The students had the opportunity to see how batteries are sorted, discharged, and dismantled, as well as how they are prepared for recycling, while observing our technological lines and dedicated processes in operation.

We are pleased to see that educational institutions from across Europe are discovering ECOWES and choosing to visit our facility. We believe that such exchange programs are essential for building a real understanding of the impact of recycling and the role we play in the circular economy.

We are grateful for the participants’ interest and curiosity, and we hope this experience provided them with valuable insight into sustainability and environmental responsibility. ♻️

Ce se întâmplă cu o baterie la finalul ciclului său de viață? 🔋

Elevii a două clase de la Liceul Teoretic Mihai Ionescu au aflat răspunsul astăzi, în cadrul vizitei la fabrica ECOWES, organizată cu ocazia programului „Săptămâna Verde”.

Vizita a oferit elevilor oportunitatea de a înțelege mai bine procesul de reciclare a bateriilor și importanța acestuia în contextul economiei circulare. Turul a fost susținut de CEO & Fondatorul ECOWES, Horia Irimescu, care a prezentat întregul flux tehnologic: de la recepția bateriilor, sortare, descărcare, dezasamblare, pana la obținerea black mass-ului și a altor fracții.

Pe parcursul vizitei, elevii au avut ocazia să observe o gamă variată de baterii, de la baterii alcaline utilizate zilnic, până la cele de telefon, laptopuri sau bateriile pentru vehicule electrice și au înțeles modul în care fiecare tip este gestionat în siguranță și responsabil.

Un accent deosebit a fost pus pe importanța colectării bateriilor în puncte special amenajate și pe impactul negativ pe care depozitarea necorespunzătoare îl poate avea asupra mediului și siguranței.

La ECOWES, credem că un viitor sustenabil începe prin educație. ♻️
