From above, a tailings pond looks almost calm. But knowing exactly how much volume sits in it and how that shifts week to week is what actually keeps an operation safe and compliant.

We surveyed this site using GPR (ground-penetrating radar), achieving 1.8 cm/px resolution and building a full digital surface model and volume report, with RTK positioning keeping accuracy within ±3 cm.

We run surveys like this regularly across mining, construction and industrial sites, same, and every site comes with its own challenges, and we adapt the method to match, this time it was GPR, on the next mission it might be something else entirely.

Recently, the aviation and drone industries have faced a growing, invisible threat. Right here on NATO's Black Sea frontier in Romania, drones have been falling. The cause isn't hardware malfunction, it’s intense GPS jamming and spoofing spilling over from nearby conflict zones.

Astăzi am avut o zi plină și dinamică la Skyline Drones pentru că ne-au trecut pragul vizitatori cu care am stat la discuții pe îndelete.

Așa cm era firesc, am pus accent pe reușita noastră de zilele trecute privind Standardul Ocupațional, în colaborare cu Asociația pentru Drone. Este un pas de care suntem foarte mândri și ne-a făcut o reală plăcere să detaliem parcursul, modul în care a luat naștere acest proiect și ce urmează în viitorul apropiat. Bineînțeles, din una în alta, conversația a ajuns și la celelalte planuri și inițiative pe care le pregătim acum în echipă.

Și... știți cm e când vorbești cu pasiune despre ceea ce faci? Entuziasmul se transmite! Așa că vă lăsăm un mic spoiler: dacă sunteți curioși să aflați mai multe, în curând ne veți putea urmări la știri!

În primă fază, Skyline Drones și Asociația pentru Drone au inițiat în parteneriat introducerea codului COR 315318 – Pilot de dronă în Clasificarea Ocupațiilor din România – registrul oficial care cuprinde toate meseriile recunoscute și care se pot practica pe piața muncii din România.

Până la acest demers, profesia de pilot de drone nu figura în acest registru, ceea ce însemna că această ocupație nu putea fi încadrată oficial în relațiile de muncă, nu existau programe de studiu dedicate, finalizate cu diplome recunoscute de stat și nici un cadru unitar de evaluare a competențelor profesionale specifice domeniului de activitate.

Ulterior, Skyline Drones a elaborat și Standardul Ocupațional – documentul care definește concret programa de pregătire teoretică și practică, competențele profesionale, responsabilitățile și activitățile specifice, criteriile de performanță necesare exercitării acestei ocupații. Standardul a fost avizat de Asociația pentru Drone, în calitate de entitate cu expertiză tehnică în domeniul siguranței aeronautice, și aprobat oficial de ANC/Ministerul Educației.
O dată cu publicarea acestui standard pe site-ul ANC, s-au creat premisele legale pentru dezvoltarea de programe de formare profesională pentru ca piloții la distanță să poată urma cursuri de calificare acreditate, să obțină diplome recunoscute la nivel național și să se angajeze oficial în acest domeniu.

Această reușită reprezintă rezultatul unui efort comun susținut de parteneriatul Skyline Drones-Asociația pentru Drone în vederea construirii unui cadru profesional și educațional care până acum nu exista în România.

Suntem onorați că am contribuit la crearea fundamentului necesar dezvoltării unei industrii moderne, competitive și aliniate la evoluțiile tehnologice și la cerințele actuale ale pieței muncii.

Demersurile noastre continuă cu elaborarea primului curs autorizat ANC de formare profesională a adulților pentru ocupația ”Pilot de dronă” (program de calificare).

Objective: Persistent overwatch, POI tracking, and grid sweep.

Prolonged grid sweeps require fixed-wing endurance. To execute this within a restricted harbor environment, we eliminated the runway requirement completely.

This scenario bypassed both constraints. Operating out of the Harbour Area, we deployed the Beyond Vision VtOne. The system requires a ground footprint of just 5x5m to launch vertically before transitioning into highly efficient fixed-wing forward flight.

The Ex*****on: Once airborne, the platform executed a high-endurance Rapid Environmental Assessment (REA). While fixed-wing architecture trades tight-corner maneuverability for speed and range, the VtOne dominated the macro-environment. It conducted sweeping flight paths over the harbor, successfully identified and tracked designated Points of Interest (POI), and executed wide-area Search and Rescue (SAR) patterns.

Persistent eyes on a massive target area, operating from a minimal tactical footprint.

Runway independence integrated with fixed-wing endurance. The operational grid was systematically swept and monitored. Exercise successfully concluded.

OPEX is a wrap.
Over the course of the exercise, we ran a series of demanding live scenarios that put our systems through exactly the conditions they were built for.

We executed flights in GNSS-denied environments, deployed an inflatable drone, demonstrated real-time mobile phone detection, and conducted coastal bathymetry surveys, capabilities that go well beyond conventional UAV operations and directly address the realities of modern contested and maritime environments.

Being part of an exercise of this level, alongside military units and partners operating at the highest professional standards, was something we don't take lightly. The validation that comes from a live operational setting is what drives everything we build.

A sincere thank you for organizing an exercise that genuinely pushes the boundaries of what unmanned systems can do in the field, and to our partners for the commitment and collaboration throughout.

To every unit and team present, it was an honor to be there.

Objective: Ground-level mobile device detection and tracking.

Every RF transmission is a targetable beacon. The tactical challenge is isolating a single SIM signature in a cluttered environment before the target displaces. Ground-based direction finding is simply too slow.

This scenario validated a rapid, direct aerial solution. We deployed the Beyond Vision BVQ418, operating as the carrier platform for Centum’s payload.
The target: a specific active SIM card on the ground.

The Ex*****on: The BVQ418 maneuvered through the designated airspace, sweeping the area of interest. The system integration performed flawlessly. The easyCatcher payload detected, identified, and continuously tracked the target device's RF emissions in real conditions, feeding actionable intelligence straight back to the ground C2 station.

Turning an active phone into a precise tracking beacon from the air drastically shortens the kill chain.

Aerial SIGINT deployment validated on the ground. If a target emits a signal, it’s already on the grid. Exercise complete.

Maritime ISR and mine countermeasures demand a platform that operates where the threat is on the water, not above it from a safe distance. The HP30 flies the mission and lands back on the sea when it's done. It was built to survive that environment.

This Scenario was built to bypass these constraints using the Diodon HP30 a fully inflatable UAS.

The Ex*****on: Stowed completely deflated to preserve zero deck footprint, the system was pressurized on-site. Both launch and recovery were executed directly from the water surface in active sea conditions. The inflatable structure acts as a natural shock absorber and provides absolute buoyancy. No recovery nets. No catch lines. No shattered carbon fiber.

While airborne for the ISR & MCM profile, the platform maintained a continuous, high-bandwidth live stream, pushing critical reconnaissance data straight to the HQ Command Center.

Environment: Simulated severe electromagnetic jamming / RF-dark zone.

In a contested airspace, satellites are the first vulnerability. This scenario was built to test a dead spectrum, total GNSS denial.

Upon launch, we deliberately severed all external positioning data. From that millisecond, the True North module took full control of the Orqa platform. Instead of searching for a blocked signal, True North relies on internal architecture to calculate its own spatial reality in real-time. Fully autonomous dead-reckoning.

The Ex*****on: A clean, silent ISR mission. The drone held its flight vector and executed the mission profile strictly on onboard logic, completely immune to electronic countermeasures (ECM). No uplink required. No drift. No hesitation.

Standard platforms drop out of the sky when the spectrum is jammed. True North just does the math and finishes the mission.

GNSS denial is the new baseline. Platforms dependent on external signals are a liability in contested airspace. Remove it from your mission profile. Upgrade your architecture and eliminate the vulnerability.
