Tatar Community in Singapore
Meet Ramil:
Living His Dream Life in Singapore
Ramil is 35 years old and comes from Kazan, Russia. Five years ago, he moved to Singapore to follow his dreams and work in IT. Now, he calls this amazing city his home.
Every day, Ramil wakes up in a modern city full of light and excitement. When he walks to work, he often passes by the famous Marina Bay Sands with its tall towers and beautiful rooftop pool. Sometimes, after work, he meets friends at Gardens by the Bay, where they walk under the giant Supertrees that shine at night.
Ramil is working on a new idea with his close friend—they are building an AI app to help people in their daily lives. They spend many hours together, sharing ideas and drinking tea (never alcohol, because they follow Islamic rules). Ramil is now preparing a big pitch to present their app to investors. He feels nervous but very excited!
On weekends, Ramil likes to play tourist. He visits Sentosa Island to enjoy the beach and see the dolphins. He often takes a peaceful walk in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a place with beautiful flowers and green space. Sometimes, he travels to nearby Malaysia with friends to explore new sights and taste new halal foods.
Ramil also enjoys being part of the Tatar community in Singapore. The group is friendly, modern, and respects Islamic traditions. They often gather for dinners where they share Tatar dishes like echpochmak (meat pies) and talk about life, new business ideas, and family. Ramil feels lucky to have friends who understand his culture and support his dreams.
