What market players need to understand is that serious progress is being made in advancing the development of quantum computing. It's already happening.

Also, there is a major difference between logical, digital driven, super computers which can make super fast - Yes vs No decisions. Quantum Computers should be considered more as probability machines, using human traits such as intuition to derive their answers. What does this mean in practice terms? Quantum computers can solve cryptology problems better than any super computers. So even the best encryption programs will have no chance against a specifically designed quantum computer, with a specific mission.

The bitcoin and crypto community better be getting ready for this... NOW!

From the article:

"What you’ve got here is a time bomb waiting to explode, if and when someone gets that ability to develop quantum-computer hacking and decides to use that to target cryptocurrencies,” said Arthur Herman, senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, a think tank based in Washington, D.C."

"A 2022 Hudson Institute study estimated that a quantum hack of bitcoin would cause more than $3 trillion in losses across crypto and other markets and trigger a deep recession. Herman said the likely costs of a quantum hack have swelled since the study came out, as bitcoin has climbed to near $100,000 and grown into an increasingly mainstream investment asset."

Researchers warn a quantum-computing attack on cryptocurrency would cause trillions in losses

Love this comment from one of the key Founders of Open AI:

"After Sutskever concluded his talk, an audience member asked him how researchers can create the right incentive mechanisms for humanity to create AI in a way that gives it “the freedoms that we have as homosapiens.”

“I feel like in some sense those are the kind of questions that people should be reflecting on more,” Sutskever responded. He paused for a moment before saying that he doesn’t “feel confident answering questions like this” because it would require a “top down government structure" The audience member suggested cryptocurrency, which made others in the room chuckle."

“I don’t feel like I am the right person to comment on cryptocurrency but there is a chance what you [are] describing will happen,” Sutskever said. “You know, in some sense, it’s not a bad end result if you have AIs and all they want is to coexist with us and also just to have rights. Maybe that will be fine... I think things are so incredibly unpredictable. I hesitate to comment but I encourage the speculation.”

"We’ve achieved peak data and there’ll be no more," OpenAI’s former chief scientist told a crowd of AI researchers.

Altman is pushing for AGI attainment at Open AI for very specific legal, IP & valuation issues, but in reality, we're not likely as a species to actually achieve true AGI for another 10-15 years. And maybe that's a really good thing, as we're not ready for it. Just as advances in chemical weapons and nuclear technologies, AI advancements need human control and regulation.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman was recently asked what he was looking forward to in 2025. "AGI? Yeah, excited for that," he said in a video interview posted on YouTube.
